Pelle said if he didn't score in 2 games, he was determined in the 3rd game. He must be itching now...blooming international break.
Pelle played a good game, though. He held up the ball really well. Maybe could have made a little more effort on that header that almost led to a Leicester goal (if that was him, not sure). Tadic was a little off today, that was about it. Everyone else played alright.
One of the things they were praising us for on Soccer Saturday is how the players cover for each other if one is having a bad day (and how they do it without recrimination).
It was a perfect big striker job of holding off the defense to feed that ball to Long. But Long made a smart run, and he tucked that ball into the corner well. 50/50 I'd say. The second goal was made by Wanyama, but Leicester was just caught out. Wanyama made a perfect pass, but he had time and space and an obvious target. Tadic was wide open as well and probably could have scored but Long is the striker so he should just go ahead and finish. Which he did.
Great game, great result. I was really worried that the players would be complacent and careless leading into this one. It wasn't made better after that first half so i'm glad we stepped up and got a result. Great day for Long who will get a massive boost out of that while Forster may as well have a run up field during the match as he clearly isnt needed in goal.
Well done lads you deserved that. We was very stubborn for long periods but didn't really threaten. Since beating Man U we have lost all our confidence and look clueless in the final 3rd
