Everyone is truly awful playing in a 5-4-1

Let's sack fat headed dinosaur Bruce and see Aluko in his natural position out on the wing before we write him off.

    ^^ This ^^

Aluko was a breath of fresh air when he first signed, because he offered something we had lacked for about three-years - a goal threat and a modicum of pace up-front. But that was in the second-tier. I think it is safe to say that we mistook a pretty average player for something special, on account of having had to endure Nicky Barmby and Nigel Pearson's horrendous tactics and defensive team selections for so long. In reality, Aluko offers us nothing more or less than any winger/attacker at any Championship club would. He is not a Premier League footballer.

Spot on Erik. He has done nothing apart from give the ball away, or turn into defenders who then take it off him.

Aluko would be great if he ever passed the ball to a colleague. He doesn't so he is about as much use as a one legged man at a arse kicking party.

He looked bright and exciting when we started last season, and I do wonder if his injuries have affected him as he's not been the same since. It's not an excuse for a lack of effort though.

Yes he didn't play two very good balls to Elmo on the wing today..... Today it was clear he was trying to offload the ball more than normal. However he was still very poor and i would much prefer to give Ince a go someone who has scored a heck of a lot of goals in the Championship compared to Aluko.

Geez..He passed the ball to someone in b&a stripes.? Now theres a first...
He tends to run around in circles until he becomes dizzy or an opponent takes the ball from him...whichever comes first.

Agreed recall Ince and let him have a go...

He has a couple of tricks which the opposition have sorted, a bit of pace thats all He isnt a threat has no physical presence and spends more time on his arris than a romanion beggar We know Matty Fryatt was a different type of player but it dont figure Young Ince has scored more goals at championship level and has more potential than Aluko
I just cannot see how he was picked in front of Ben Arfa today

The only logical reason is that he was asked to hold the ball up and play Hernandez in.

This he spectacularly failed to do.

It's a slippery slope when a selection decision is based entirely on trying to make another player more effective.

Ben Arfa is so far in advance of Aluko it's laughable.

And yet he was dropped for him?

Unbelievable mistake. Possibly the worst decision Bruce has made in 700 games as a manager.

Good to see more people are getting annoyed with this now. Bruce loves him though.

is that after buying Prozzie - loaning Danny Graham, trying to buy DJ Campbell, paying a club record (at the time) to buy Livermore, his team selection at Lockeren and his obsession with picking his lad

If that was the case and he was brought in to do as you say My estimation of Bruce has diminished I cannot believe after seeing what the lad offers that any premiership manager would go with that. Hold the ball up ,the wife could kick him in the air He is a wuss
