weston vs doncaster game OFF. ref called off the game 30 mins before kick off. there is ugly scenes at the ground mainly by donny fans due to the travel distance and how late the game has been called off. the players were ready and both managers wanted the game to go ahead. weston will now be in the 2nd round draw.
Unless the pitch is dangerous that isn't acceptable if both teams are prepared to play. Understandable that the Donny fans are annoyed. Its a long journey. I did it last week. The Donny fans were a great bunch in Cardiff for the Paintpot trophy
ref did early inspection but said needed another inspection at 2pm. it hasnt rained apparently in the last 2 hours in weston (according to radio bristol) and the ref spent half an hour on the pitch at 2pm rolling the ball on the pitch and bouncing the ball. there is surface water but not worse and in fact was better when the ref ealier decided it was ok but needed another inspection at 2pm. managers, players and fans very baffled by the ref's decision and fans are very angry. donny dont want to come down on a night game and weston obviously wants the game to go ahead thinking they got a chance in the conditions. everyone up for it apart from the ref. should have given it a go then see during the game. should have given it a chance.
nothing really happening at the moment, but at the same time that could be a good thing as tranmere not doing anything either.
