British chap. Northerner from memory? He wrote Video Games. I suspect she has a few writers around her.
My stepson's been doing an internship there for 3 months and he's made a few contacts so it's brilliant he's landed a real job. He's found a girl there too, will meet her at Christmas.
That's really great - especially moving from an internship - well done to him. He'll have a fantastic time out there, no doubt. Bung hum some Fable love too! (She's actually got a bit of a following happening in Santa Monica).
It annoys me when people say ISIS has nothing to do with Islam. Yes it does, it's a strict literal interpretation of the Koran! Most Muslims don't interpret it that way, bit it's still linked to Islam.
Most Muslims aren't extremists and won't become one, but it is a religion that lends itself to mind control. They don't allow people the freedom of choice....even if you believe someone won't go to heaven unless they are Muslim, it is still their choice to make.
Quite right. There's an argument that Islam is currently undergoing what conservative Christianity went through about 500 years ago with a conflict between the varying degrees of interpretation of the scripture. If history is to believed then the moderate side will eventually win due to its larger appeal but that does not mean there won't be a lot of blood shed in the meantime from people who are more fervent in their personal belief.
Latest girl-related crisis. Was talking to her on Facebook, she said she was watching Doctor Who. I asked her how it was and she said she's only seen the first 15 minutes. I said Fair enough, I'll leave you to enjoy it in peace but hadn't realised she'd gone off facebook chat. Though she saw it a few minutes later. Even still, I perhaps should have just said nothing. D:
Person in 'sending message to person not currently online and staring at their inbox' shocker. No big deal. Not at all.
Tbf, even I thought that post was ridiculous re-reading it. Oh well. Damn my insecurities and natural pessimism.
Have to take it in context. The original 2001 was a stunning film when it came out....now, CGI has made people blasé. It also didn't spoon feed you...made you think.
HELP! I'm stood at the side of a hockey pitch watching my son try out for the local hockey side - his school said he should be playing for a club. They have just talked us through the process and procedures and if he progresses, games will be on Saturday afternoons Oh no. I gave up my season ticket when I was 14 to play Saturdays; looks like he may go the same way and Dad will have to do the same to support him!! I can see it now; we're going to win the cup, qualify for champions league and il be giving up my season ticket!!
2001 - A Space Odyssey still stands as one of the greatest science fiction films ever made. The photography is beautiful and the marriage of the classical music pieces with the action is brilliant. As Fran says, you have to concentrate to keep up with what's happening, but that is true of most great works of art. One of my all-time favourite films.
