I'll chuck some more in then...

Which on of the following club badges did Sunderland have on their shirt for the 1984/85 season?

    2. Who were Sunderland's first 3 shirt sponsors ever, in order?

    3. Who scored Sunderland's first ever Premier League goal?

    4. Solskjaer scored two, Nicky Butt got one and Cantona scored two including that goal, at Old Trafford in 1996 vs Sunderland. This wasn't the only time Sunderland played at Old Trafford in 1996 though, what was the score the other time?

    5. Who is this posing in a Sunderland shirt?

    4. 2-2 season before in the fa cup. Beat us in the replay at Roker, one of the few games I went to the front of the Fulwell end.

You got number 1 and number 4 correct mate <ok>

Edit: I researched all of these by the way, so I'm open to scrutiny once my answers have been revealed. I don't profess to know this random stuff off the top of my head!

for number 3, just realised I missed the 96-97 season. Quinn?

I'm 100% certain on the sponsors It went Cowies, Vaux, Reg Vardy, boylesports, Tombola, Invest in Africa and finally Bidvest in that order.

    Number 5 pascal chimbonda?

I thought you'd forgotten that season, still not the right scorer though. Sponsors are wrong (not all of them). FA Cup result is right. It's not Chimbonda though.

    No closer Bri <ok>

Sulli Muntari? It's not Cisse, build isn't right. Can Only be Muntari for that strip.

I'm sticking with the sponsors like. Cowies, Vaux, Reg Vardy, boylesports, Tombola, Invest in Africa and finally Bidvest in that order.

hmmm, Gray? Think it was forest we beat by quite a margin, trying to think who scored.

Terry, You can't count us changing Vaux drink types, we had Vaux Sampson and Vaux Scorpian in the same season, then Lamptons, but it was all under the same sponsor of Vaux. Same deal

    But if you must.

Cowies, Vaux, Vaux Sampton&Vaux Scorpian, Vaux Lampton, Reg Vardy, boylesports, Tombola, Invest in Africa and Bidvest

Yes, it's Muntari. Gray is also correct. All you're missing now is the sponsor and I'm not counting Vaux more than once in any way. You'll probably kick yourself when I tell you that away strips didn't used to have to have the same sponsors as home strips. <ok>

So Sunderland had a separate away sponsor during the time of either Cowies or Vaux that wasn't Cowies or Vaux?

I'll give you another hint, it was a 3rd strip that was 'worn very infrequently' in the mid 80's.

    Just doing some more research...

"Cowies". a slang term in the north east of England for Ecstacy tablets. This came from the name of a biscuit factory where they were sold under the counter. <laugh>

I know it, had to Cheat though. It's still part of the Vaux deal though you naughty boy. So I was right with Cowies, Vaux and Reg Vardy

    What was the sponsor though?

I checked and it was never under the Vaux Brewery brands... it's a Danish brand totally unrelated as far as I know. I did say my answers were open to scrutiny!
