It was 2-0, Pele and Prutton scored. I can remember them delaying kick off, and they had all the people on the pitch with the big rollers, and most likely Mike Osman tried to fill the extra 45 minutes! Felt sorry for the leicester fans, having waited so long for kick off to then be 1-0 down so quickly! http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_div_1/6205629.stm
We'll be losing 0-2. We'll get one goal back just before halftime. Then we'll go on to win 3-2. Maybe.
Our home form is impressive: 4 wins, 1 draw with 15 goals for and 1 against. I am aware that we have played lower sides, but you don't get stats like that without a fantastic defence. Goals scored is a bit skewed by an 8 and a 4 nil win, so I don't necessarily foresee a massive scoreline, but surely a win by a couple of goals is most likely. P.s. We (and the press) keep talking about lower sides, but we actually make these teams look like lower sides. Some of those teams will end up midtable.
We are short odds to win and so we should be. Ron just needs to guard against over confidence. Leicester wont just roll over but I cant see anything but a home win.
Guess who wrote this as a preview to tomorrow's match..? "Things just keep getting better and better for Southampton, while Leicester are on a downward spiral at the moment. The Foxes need to get back to basics and play to their strengths, which are the energy in their team and their pace up front. But, no matter how well they play, it will be hard for Nigel Pearson's side to get anything out of their trip to St Mary's - it seems a long time since everybody wrote Saints off in the summer when they lost their manager and sold so many players. All their new signings have come off, and they are clearly committed to bringing more players through from their youth team. Their plan is working brilliantly at the moment." Highlight to reveal. There was also recently an article on Daily Mail by Martin Keown. He said there are only 5 good center back currently in the PL - Winston Reid, GAry Cahill, John Terry, and name the other two?
@SouthamptonFC: GALLERY: Ahead of his return to St Mary’s, we look back at Dean Hammond’s time at #SaintsFC – http://sfcne.ws/SaintHammond
I was a bit nervous prior to that Leeds game...after two years in league 1 you can begin to doubt yourself. Hammond's goal was one of the most memorable ones for me.
That's a lovely tribute to a great player. That picture of him with Papa Waigo and Kelvin, lifting the JPT with Markus beaming in the background, well words fail me. I still don't understand why he wasn't given a chance in the Prem by Nigel, he seems to be doing OK with Leicester given they're not quite as good as we were in our first season back.
