Correct Tramore. I'd probably go with the Liverpool lineup and bring Vargas on for Bobby when he tires. Or he might leave Isla at RB and put Vargas out wide. Betty, Harry will drop Hoilett ahead of Fer. Rightly or wrongly that's the way he'll go. I just hope he doesn't throw Barton back in from the off just because he's Barton. King Henry and The Beast have been doing alright together and I think they should continue.
I wouldn't want Fer on the left. Yun will be overloaded again!! I'd go for this (may as well have a go!!): -------------------------Green------------------------ Isla-------------Onuoha-------Caulker-------------Yun Vargas-----------Henry-------Sandro-----------Hoilett -------------------Austin-------Oh BZ---------------- I certainly wouldn't bring Barton straight back in, as Henry and Sandro have been doing well.
BWP certainly is though - he just cannot stop himself from scoring for New York Red Bulls in MLS season play and now in the playoffs - we picked the wrong brother - we could have had BWP on the cheap from Charlton - he's scored 30 goals so far this season for them! Red Bulls beat Sporting KC 2-1 to advance please log in to view this image HARRISON, N.J. (AP) Thierry Henry won't be retiring - at least for two more games. The 37-year-old Frenchman set up the first of Bradley Wright-Phillips' two goals in the final 13 minutes and helped rally New York to a 2-1 victory over Sporting Kansas City on Thursday night. The result eliminated the defending MLS Cup champion from the playoffs and sent the Red Bulls to the conference semifinals. New York will host D.C. United on Sunday in the first of a two-leg semifinal series. D.C. will host the second leg on Nov. 8. Henry is in the final year of his contract with New York and, despite several media reports indicating he intends to retire, has not commented publicly about intentions. He once again did not address the question, and Red Bulls coach Mike Petke grew exasperated when asked if he thought about the match being Henry's last when New York trailed. "Do I have to get it tattooed on my head? I have no clue what Thierry's going to do," Petke said. "I said it enough already. Thierry, I think, could play two more years." After Dom Dwyer finished a counter in the 53rd minute to put Kansas City ahead, Henry led New York's rally, forcing Kansas City keeper Eric Kronberg to tip his header over the bar in the 55th minute and volleying a loose ball high in the 72nd. Then in the 77th minute, he took a feed from Peguy Luyindula and sent a short ball into the middle of the penalty area. Wright-Phillips struck it first time, knocking it off the leg of defender Matt Besler and inside the far post. With less than a minute to go, Wright-Phillips won the game, knocking in a header off a cross from Ambroise Oyongo. The goals continued the impressive year for the Englishman, who led MLS with a record-tying 27 goals in the regular season. Henry, arguably MLS' biggest foreign-player acquisition behind David Beckham, came to MLS in the summer of 2010 with a resume that included World Cup and European Championship titles with France, league titles in France, Spain and England and a European Champions League trophy. He also was runner-up for FIFA's Player of the Year twice. Having been the beneficiary of Henry's passes, Wright-Phillips would be the saddest to see the Frenchman end his career. "If it was up to me, I'd keep him playing until when I retire," Wright-Phillips said. "Obviously, he's our man. It will be up to him at the end of the day." Despite being bothered by sore Achilles tendons in both legs, Henry gave no indication that his body was making him consider retirement more this year than any other. "It's the way it is. I've been in the game for 20 years and I rarely miss games," he said. "It's the same." The loss was the fourth straight for Kansas City, including a CONCACAF Champions League defeat, a slump coach Peter Vermes attributed to injuries and a crowded schedule that also included losing players to the World Cup. "We just don't have bodies," Vermes said. "We're just missing a lot of different guys in the group. We ran out of gas but it's also a lot of guys have had to take on responsibility within games that normally they shouldn't have to." http://stats.cbc.ca/mls/recap.asp?g=2014103010 Red Bulls take first leg 2-0 over United HARRISON, N.J. (AP) Bradley Wright-Phillips and Peguy Luyindula scored, and the New York Red Bulls beat D.C. United 2-0 on Sunday in the first leg of Major League Soccer's Eastern Conference semifinals. Thierry Henry set up both goals with brilliant passes. The first was a no-look assist off his back heel to an unmarked Wright-Phillips, who punched it past goalkeeper Bill Hamid in the 40th minute. Luyindula doubled the lead in the 73rd minute, gathering Henry's well-placed delivery from midfield and slotting the finish through Hamid's legs. Hamid finished with five saves, but Luis Robles needed only two to hold United without an away goal. Very solid team and I agree except for one consideration; If Augero plays it has to be Onouha. If City plan on starting with Dzeko then it has to be Dunne as he's miles ahead of Ned and Caulker in the air.
Agreed. I only left Dunne out because I wanted the pace of Ned against Aguero. I agree that Dunne would be needed against Dzeko. I'm loath to leave Caulker out because he's such a threat at attacking corners.
Yes please, thats the team for me. Be happy with most of that for the season. Traore as cover for the left. Dune as CB cover Mutch/ Barton cove across the centre Pjhillips for the right AND... If the "fat one" could get himself fit id take OBZ out and put him alongside Charlie....F**King waste FFS !
Having read this crap from Lawrenson I have to ask....Do we actually exist? The guy should be pensioned off.....
Green Isla Dunne Caulker Yun Vargas Sandro Henry Krancjar BZ Austin Hoilett was the only real disappointment at S/Bridge so should be dropped. Nico on left is better option than Fer,in my opinion We would then have a reasonably strong bnch without SWP.
OT - Just wondering if Roller is still going to do the prediction comp, or has he left the building; not long till the game now.... 1-3 for me, Austin, Aguero3 (2 pens)
I actually feel we should get a result... on current form I will be disappointed if we dont.... another chance for Harold to show his experience... haha...... by going for Citeh from the off as there confidence is shattered at the mo
Zamora has to start with Kompany out. I think Dunne will start much as I agree that Ned deserves to play. I'd love to see Adel out on the left but I think with Zabaleta bombing forward Harry will probably be a bit more cautious...
