This thread went along pretty good in the Hull-forum. So I'l try it here as well! I read an interesting article about patrioism (can't find it now though) It ranked the worlds most patriotic countries, with USA, Israel and Japan/Australia in the top, closely followed by Ireland if I remember it correctly. Sweden was somewhere in the middle and England was in the lower mid-table. Sweden would probably be ranked higher if the average Swede wouldn't be so lame. A lot of people are afraid to be called racists etc We are not even allowed to play the national anthem during the "graduations/last day of school" anymore, due to the "fact" that some immigrants may feel put aside or something like that (Why would they?!) And we have the so called "jantelag/jante law", which is the most ridicilous "law" ever. Here we have the "guidelines" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jante_Law [NSFW]Don't think you're anything special. Don't think you're as good as us. Don't think you're smarter than us. Don't convince yourself that you're better than us. Don't think you know more than us. Don't think you are more important than us. Don't think you are good at anything. Don't laugh at us. Don't think anyone cares about you. Don't think you can teach us anything. [/NSFW] Edit: It's not THE law, but it kinda describes the average Swede not being brave enough to say what he/she thinks. Can't see any reason why you wouldn't be proud to be Swedish. Are YOU proud of being English? If not, why? And which country do you reckon to be most patriotic?
Reckon everyone's proud of their country, be it English, Scottish, Irish or Welsh. Could be a long thread this...
If you are referring to me, no it is not, some **** has picked on the best thread of the day & basically started a new angle, am i **** getting involved wit this one
Haha, what? I can promise you that I'm Swedish, not 100 % though (50 % Aussie), but born and raised in Sweden. Not sure how I can prove it though, do I need to?
oh feck, you had it now if a few regulars are on I mentioned i used to teach and i had 'no you didnt, you wrote i instead of I' this lead to my best thread to date and no ****er remembered what i asked
That would be my dad..... And yeah, I reckon that his English is pretty decent, considering the fact that he is from Australia.
It just seems like a thread that would be started for a bit of mischief on here. Apologies Febbos if it's not. I'm not proud to be English.
I think we are all total arseholes to be honest. Completely up our own backsides. I wish we could be more like the Irish. Lovely bunch they are.
Honestly didn't. I know your blocked and this is the typing of someone sober. Thought it might be EDGE or Dev. A Scot anyway.
