True but why would he join us, I dout we would pay him more? Or be offered more oppunities at first team football with us. Would rather we developed our own academy players which we can sell for inflated prices.
Would depend on who Spurs are planning on signing. As is a move to us would move him from 3rd choice to second choice with development potential to lead our line in future years as Pelle ages. But Adebayor's contract is up and spurs have been trying to shift Soldado for ages. That moves him up their list. But if they sign two more strikers (e.g. Berahino and Jay) then he gets shunted back down again along with a demonstration of lack of faith If our board decides to go for him then we should trust them. As I imagine they would not simply be following the media bandwagon. My theory is that the link is completely invented in an attempt to try and force Kane's position (so by his agent). The link is given credibility (if we can call it that) by it coming from a club that Spurs want to sign a striker from. Ticks a bunch of boxes (potential swap, someone to jump ahead of Kane and take his place etc)
We should really just stick with real scenarios, but I'm pretty happy with our beast between the sticks, so **** off sounds fairly appropriate.
Talking of Soldado...joke from the Mirror. Soldado asks Lamella what a rabona goal is. Lamella: It's where you kick the ball round the back of your standing leg. Soldado: I know what a rabona is, but what's a 'goal'.
The commentator and 'expert' at last night's game were discussing Spurs' poor league form and why they weren't playing like Southampton last year. They suggested that it was either because the player's could not adapt to the system or that they were playing a different system. What they missed was the fact that actually the Saints pressing game was not something Pochettino imposed on Saints it was what we had been playing for 2 years under Adkins. It wasn't revolution it was evolution. True Pochettino came in and refined/improved it but essentially it was the same way of playing. Clearly it is much harder to get a fresh bunch of players to play that way from the off. This again shows our recruitment policy at its best and that its not just aimed at the players but the manager as well. We don't just go for any old manager however good his record. We go for the one who is best suited to manage the team in the Saints way.
Exactly. On the other hand, Spurs method of recruitment is scatter gun and flavour of the month style, which is why they're so uncoordinated.
Still can't believe we are being linked to Andros Townsend or Harry Kane. They are both players that would struggle to be backup for us and at the wages they would both want and the transfer fee they would cost they are just not worth it. Not anywhere near worth it. Both are media hyped. 'Another goal for Harry Kane' ?? Have you seen the teams that Spurs have been playing? For Kane's goal he only had to stand on tip toes to gain a 1ft advantage over the greek teams defenders. Townsend surprised the world by actually making the byline and crossing rather than cutting in and shooting. If we had those kind of chances the greeks had in the second half we would have beaten Spurs 5 or 6 goals to 2!!! That is how poor that Europa (reserve) side is. Spurs don't have any players I would put into our first 11. Erikson is about their best but even he is very inconsistent and can be selfish.
They have, but haven't really created any chances apart from Cavani's header. Great goal from Ivanovic though.
Zlatan trying to score a Tiss goal there. Actually there's definitely something of the Tiss about Zlatan - about as similar as one can get to Le God.
Bayern Munich down to 10 men (Alonso off) and still 0-0 with Shakhtar. Only 1 shot on target for Bayern so far.
Haha, I know. It's more the attitude towards a football - it's an arrogance and ownership of it (plus the slight petulance when it doesn't go their way and the ball isn't doing what the master asks of it).
