With vampires/zombies are there any roles or everyone is just good or bad?

 

That wasn't true in Mafia 2. Non-LFC fans made up 25% of people and not one of them got killed (until days end). RHC assassinating Swarbs because he was a MU fan was unusual.

Can't pick your own roles but you might end up an assassin- maybe Astro will grace you with being a ninja if you are!

Might be worth drawing up to or three game ideas and creating a new thread with a poll. Let me know if you want to do something like that and I'll close this thread to avoid confusion.

 

In Vampire rules- the town have the same sort of roles as regular Mafia rules. Sometimes renamed (Vigilante might be called "the hunter" or "monster hunter"). I'd go easy on the number of positive town roles though or it could be unbalanced.

Vampire team typically has only one role- "the count" or "vampire lord". (if didn't like the whole Vampire name- could be "Priest" or "Prophet" fighting a cult) Everyone else are just vampires (cultists).

Vampire rules- typically starts off with just the one bad guy. (The Count) - sometimes starts off with one other person on his team - if he does- this person becomes count if the town lynch or assassinate the count on Day/Night 1. (Later nights no one does).

If Vampire Count doesn't start off with one team mate- he is usually allowed to make one conversion BEFORE first nightfall (again so that, if he gets killed day/night one someone else can take over).

It's up to you how you set up the counts power... if you give town a lot of strong roles- I'd let the count convert someone every night. If you don't give the town too much power- it's usually 50/50 if the count converts or kills at night. (either do this with coin toss or make odd days = convert; even days = kill).




An alternate set up if you wanted more people to have roles. Vampire and Mafia. (or Cult vs Mafia). Vampire gets to act on odd days. Mafia on Even. (always let Vampire convert instead of kill if only on odd days can act... unless he targets a Mafia, in which case that person dies/not converted... don't let opposing minority teams convert from each other for obvious reasons).




Another option available to you Astro. Don't tell anyone! Do an unknown evil type game- and it's up to the town to try and figure out what kind of teams they have to eliminate.

 

All I'd say is, it's much more fun and engaging of you have a role

 

Definitely this but will add its better to have a mafia type role too. Knowing who else is on your team enables you to plot, plan and scheme

 

With 14 probably in you can run the same game as last time or run a variant. I've no issue with an evil element rising I just hate vampires and zombies so if you could call it whatever you want I think utd be interesting to have a quiet rising menace

 

Evil red, is that a request to join or just mucking about. I for one say to all utd fans you are quite welcome if you really want to and thus far aside from rhc liking swarbs more than gerrez no non lfc fans got it worse than any reds fan and I expect it to continue

 

True but the journalist role looks good fun. Can just play your own little game and have a bit of fun with the news stories.

 

I'd love the journalist role but fear I'd make it too obvious when I put a headline like "the c**t that is RHC was proven to be innocent today"

I'd properly give myself away with as and has too

 

The journalist is very powerful, if the mafia convert him the town are completely ****ed

I like the idea of a game where things are hidden from the players

 

It takes bluffing to a whole new level- because town doesn't know what roles there are (as a result favours mafia/minority teams). For example: Two people can both claim to be cops and you can't tell if they're telling the truth or not because you don't know how many cops there really are.

 

I say it's your game this time so it should be your creation and a reflection of you. I like the thinking and will enjoy whatever

Agree 100%. Be creative- I like the ideas you've come up with. If you're hosting and can't play- set it up how you want first and foremost. It has to stay interesting for the host above all since he's the one that has to deal with it the most.

 

Lynching is to easy. I suggest we roast him nice and slow
