He played 18 out of 38 league games + 0 cup.

Krul played 21 league games + 4 cup.

Harper missed 20 league games through injury then and was subbed off in another 1. He is too injury prone to officially be called first choice, especially as he had recovered by the end of the season and Krul stayed in goal.

I think Pardew should decide based on pre-season performances...

I would say Krul he is at the right point to start devolping into a very good keeper and in my opinion harper is looking a little slow at the premier league level whit his reactions and instincts. Deffinitly keep Harper for a good no. 2 and loan froster.

Harper for the start. Let in a fair fewer amount of goals than Krul last season I believe - I know that isn't the be all and end all, but people underrate how important stopping chances through positioning the defence is, for example, you barely ever used to say, "Oh, Given could have saved that, but you'd be left thinking "Why did the defence not cover" and I think Harper's experience is better - and I think he has a calmer presence than Krul too

Newcastle United Academy/reserve goalkeeper Jak Alnwick is in the 21-player England squad that will compete at the U20 World Cup Finals in July/August.

The Northumberland-born custodian celebrated his 18th birthday earlier this month and will head off to Colombia with his international colleagues in late July.

Start with Krul. Bring Harper in when his consistency drops (seems to happen with young keepers) and then give Krul another run later in the season or when Harper's form drops off or he gets injured.

    Forster on loan.

Best thing for a young keeper is first team football no matter what club it's with. They learn more about responsiblity that way.

I'd like Krul to go on load abroad only if guaranteed first team football, like a lower league Italian, German or Spanish team. Get him experienced in different types of football as soon as possible

Agree with you, it's not just about shot stopping it's about giving the defense confidence and playing as a wider part of the team, Harper has at least 1/2 more seasons as the number 1. Krull has a long way to go yet and has looked at times as if he unsettles the defense with some poor decission making on how to deal with crosses etc.

Harper for me but if injury happens give Forster a go and Krul our on loan as its hard to compare Krul and Forster to be honest

Would like to see Krul as the number 1. Okay, he is prone to making the odd mistake but with his international career underway, I can see him growing from strength to strength. As for Harper, seems a bit sluggish sometimes but would like to see him as backup. I think Forster should be the goalie who goes out on loan, seen him a few times for Celtic and looked average, albeit a few games. I suppose were in a good position with goalies, maybe a new CB would reassure them.
