i preume the press are complaining about chelsea not playing costa and drawing to noboies or citys disgrace v cska. i was on half time on sky and warren barton was still waffling about lfc. clear case of dont look here nothing to see if only lfc didn't bottle it english footabll is best.... yada yada yada
Who really gives a monkey's what they say? If we listened to half of the advice that those phonies dispense then we would have been relegated long ago.
And we'd still be stuck with Woy, unless England would have still wanted him after he got us relegated
I agree but people obviously do care as they are talking about it. If people didn't care then papers wouldn't sell, websites wouldn't get hits and TV shows wouldn't get viewing figures. As much as you, I or anyone else moans about how **** journalists, reporters and pundits are, people must listen to them otherwise they'd be out of a job.
Generally this is spot on. They are a bunch of fish tbh. But having said that, had that been Chelsea under the exact same circumstances and Mourinho had done the same, how many on here would be following the media's lead to get the boot in? We're all a part of this merry-go-round. As for the game, Real never got out of 1st gear and Liverpool defended very well, sometimes offered a break but were let down by no cutting edge up front, but overall the performance was no indicator of what will happen against Chelsea as firstly, much of the rested players will be back, and secondly Chelsea won't be playing in 1st gear. Have to say though, regardless of form, Liverpool vs Chelsea is one of the hardest games to predict in any season.
I'm genuinely not part of the merry-go-round. I never read papers, rarely read football related websites either. Only place I look is the Liverpool website, obviously I might see people post things for various places on here but I usually scan through for the direct quotes and ignore the rest. I only use BBS site for looking at fixtures, results, live scores and tables I used to talk about other teams a lot more but no longer do this as I simply don't know.
Not aimed at you Gerrez, just a general point. I mean, if that had been Mourinho we'd be hearing about it. What I can't stand as much as the bullshit press, are the ex-players who contribute to the bullshit tbh. Tbf though I've heard a lot more about Arsenal today than I did about Liverpool. Only bcos gooners are queuing up everywhere to have a meltdown and the press love having them on. There is some comfort in knowing we're not the only kamakazee outfit out there atm
Apart from Chelsea, all the supposed contenders are trying to outdo each other in the **** stakes. I can't believe that, despite being generally abysmal this season, we're still only 3 points off the top 4. I keep having to check the table to make sure I'm not hallucinating.
was it last season or season before, remember chelsea having a few defeats or something and the press going into meltdown about how mourinho has lost it and really laying into them, the feckers then went top of the league and then it was hes a genuis blah blah bollocks, i swear they do it on purpose half the time to hook a few or set it up nicely for good headlines. we all fall for it, esp when it doesn't involve our club regarding ex players, unless they have been in the situation, then their opinion is just that, but they talk like what they say is gospel, sky is ok at least with them its 4 very experienced, brilliant ex players on the panel, one even managed a big club, but usually its people like garth crooks or robbie savage etc who have done what exactly in the game to criticise other players!
Think this is quite fair As for Chelsea, the only way it's indicate anything is if we had any confidence of repeating it but we are sure we will throw one in at a set play
He'd obviously replace Borini in either of those systems. Personally, I prefer us playing the diamond which would mean Sterling player up top or Balotelli coming back in. Once Studge is back in the side, I'm happy to see us give the BS partnership a chance. This would mean Sterling/Coutinho fighting it out tot play in the hole.
Happened to us around Christmas too. We were top then lost to Man City and Chelsea, suddenly we'd bottled it
One final point on the media, the ex players are also just as clueless as well. Read comments from Steve Nicol re. Real Madrid game and this guy is just a complete t*sser. Called Can a disgrace. Mark Lawrenson, Alan Shearer, Carragher, Alan Smith etc etc - cannot stand listening to them.
Ex-players don't tend to bother me as long as they stick to an opinion and don't criticise the manager creating unneeded pressure. For example; Roy Evans was on TalkSport yesterday questioning Brod's selection and saying he didn't like the way we played. Pretty sure he wouldn't have liked it when he was boss!
"What he did, against Real Madrid, is put a lot of fans against him. The owners will persevere with him. I don’t think, by any strength of the imagination, he won’t be there at the end of the season, but he’s alienated a lot of fans." "The man of the match was Simon Mignolet. Emre Can was a disgrace, he didn’t get out of trot. Lazar Markovic looked lightweight at best and was man handled every time he touched the ball. Javi Manquillo was chasing Marcelo’s number all night." Haven't read much from Lfc fans expressing alienation or against BR's decision to drop the 'star' players, in fact most agree that Gerrard, Lovern and Balotelli needed dropping and that Johnson shouldn't be on the pitch. Thought Can looked good, Markovic better, and Manquillo made one mistake against Marcelo that led to a goal unfortunately. From Lineker: "If I were one of Liverpool's star players, I'd be choked to be left out of a game at the Bernabeu against the European Champions" I would think that was the point. Teach them if they play that **** against Newcastle you don't get to play in the big matches. Don't see what the pundits are seeing in our games this season that we should be playing the same team for each game, surely if you are playing badly you do something drastic to hopefully get a different result. Why should we stick with the same players who are under performing and are frankly complacent. I think the bigger stories this week are Chavs failing to beat a side nobody had heard of before, Arsenal losing a 3 goal lead at home and Citeh continuing to be absolute ****e in the CL.
But they actually come across as clueless most of the time - some of the sh*t they say makes you question their actual understanding of the game. Astonishing considering their professional careers. I mean you look at the amount of ex-players, now pundits saying that Stevie is still amazing and he has to play all the time blah blah blah. Or Johnson is still the best English right back. Stevie Nicol's comments yesterday were ridiculous: No, you fool - quite a few people were happy that some of the dross were finally dropped! A disgrace?? Arguably the best performance by a CM this season! Manquillo was practically double teamed on the right flank because Lazar wasn't helping out as much.
Ahh you beat me to it! But well said! There were so many other things to come out of this fixture to talk about - the fact that we restricted the form team in the world, Ronaldo who has been scoring 100 goals in the past 12 games. And as you say, Arsenal, Chelsea and City have slipped up. Hopefully the media will focus their attention them.
The comment's are ridiculous but it depends how much you listen to them. everyone is entitled to an opinion. With you frequently visiting a football forum where many different views are shared I thought you'd appreciate that
