It's a little bit off topic but I've been told that before the Allam's took over the SMC the non-matchday income (things like weddings, prom nights, conferences etc) was £1.8 million - that's now dropped to £400k. That's clearly a massive drop and it's because the prices have got so high and the experience so generic that people aren't willing to pay for it any more.
Don't the council get a 10% cut of all our ticket sales? And bugger all off the egg chasers obviously. The egg chasers are the real villains, they should pay their way or **** off.
Adam Pearson was just a front for Pete Wilkinson, all the money was his, AP was a minority shareholder and chairman and the decision to sell was not his.
I don't think you need to bother with the church, I think you can actually get married on the pitch now.
The way it's going they will be doing Christening on the pitch next, and be offering cradle to the grave service, Christened/Married/ and scatter your ashes on the pitch when you have passed on.
Is it just me that reads that article as "I'm selling up but I'm keeping control of the stadium", a la Lloyd?
Anyone picked up on Adam Pearson's 'plea' today? Hull FC are shrinking, only 7,000 at some games ( not the inflated figures given out in the media) Hull FC cost the SMC (Hull City) £1.2m last season. And gates are so low that it isn't feasible to open all four stands of the KC on matchdays for them.
It was less than £1m and the arrangement has been binned now, so it's costing the SMC nothing ongoing. Personally, I have no interest in rugby league, but I want any Hull business to do well. Particularly one owned by the bloke who took us from oblivion to where we are now(or at least got the ball rolling).
