It was a bit more than that though wasn't it...If I remember correctly there was comments made regarding being happy that British soldiers were being killed and injured that caused the bans.

You remember incorrectly then. 46th chromosome made no mention of dead soldiers.

But then again I dont see "dead soldiers" mentioned anywhere in the site rules so what are these "serious breaches of site rules" you are referring to then?

I'm sure that hateful remarks liable to cause offence is mentioned in the rules, and some of the vile comments on that thread certainly did that..

All very subjective, different people get offended about different things. It would be a shame if people were to get all offended by the "sammy wog coon" comments, or the constant racism on display by people like billy and roger, and glorification in the deaths of innocent irish people (oh yes, its happened e.g. bloody sunday). Selective reading is useful for moderators in such times, god forbid their own posters may have to abide by the same "rules" on the board as anyone else ... but then I get to thinking that I actually couldn't give 2 ****s about the cognitive dissonance of that lot so I move on to other more pressing things, like sleep

Meh... I used to be all for cross-board threads before derbies and unbannings and stuff, but they've proven time and again, on the whole, to be humourless, cry-baby fannies of the highest order on every single possible occasion. Sure, taking the piss out of them amuses for a few seconds, but honestly, they have no craic whatsoever. There's no comeback, no wit on display by them. 100% of the posts are "boring", "unoriginal", saying you have no wit when you've clearly just metaphorically pulled their pants down, or just copying what you've said to them. The vast majority are an absolute stain on the average Mackem fan. The question becomes one of bullying. Taking the piss out of equals is brilliant and I love that on our board, but when we're mercilessly baiting actual and obviously mentally-deficient peasants without a school-qualification between them, well it just makes me feel embarrassed now. They can't handle us.

I think the ones that come on here and recognise that we take and give a bit of jib between ourselves, without resorting to crying our eyes out, banning and infighting, are the only ones that aren't too precious to bother with.

Again incorrect. I had posted on your board for many moons both seriously and taking the piss. I'd said and done far worse things back in the old days but never been banned. I was warned privately maybe once.

Banned this time for one day long session of posting tags in a tit for tat with a couple of your boards posters/mod. Apologised for going too far and once a Supermod asked that it be calmed, it was.

    Still banned a year later.

I'm afraid many of your beliefs about your board and how it is moderated is built on poor foundations. I'm with JPF really though (which is of course very worrying), every time the idea is floated it never comes to fruition. Even when we've had interaction, certain folk, mainly from your side of the fence, end up crying about a few sticks and stones. Then the old moral high ground gets perched upon and it descends from there into the same old responses. All that said I was disappointed to miss out on Smugs classic departure.

But would be all in favour on lifting all bans, just for the crack...shake things up a bit..

it's easy to get banned..**** i could be banned on this forum within 1 or 2 posts, if i chose to go down that route.

but i find the crack and the posters canny...i get nee hassle, your mods are good lads imo....same as ours in the main..

but i'm shy, so if you do come onto our board, treat me carefully....pretend i'm some slapper, who you want to bang...but it will cost you..

I'm not sure I want to Commy. Sounds looser than Alan Pardew's sense of reality and fan perception <yikes>

The vast majority of Mags tend to use the words 'beel or beeling' to answer everything...To be honest I haven't really noticed what you come out with which tells a story in itself...

Quite happy to put this to the board. But the mags who got banned first off deserved it IMHO. Piss taking is fine, but when entire threads get derailed by people claiming incessantly to have "won" or that anything contradicting their opinion is "beeling" (whatever that is) are just tedious. I think comm is right, though, in that some people are a bit sensitive these days. But then you can understand when they get pissed off when threads go tits up because people end up in a never-ending row. If everyone behaved like grown-ups down the pub we'd be fine. It's when it's schoolkids in the yard we get problems...

Please put it to the mods Sid as you say. Whatever the outcome it is your board and your decision ultimately.
    One I personally will respect.

For the record I'm in full support of a lifting of bans...However, I would put a clause in there stating that anyone who uses the word beel or beeling is sent to face a firing squad...
