He's a controversial figure, loved by some and hated by other, but now the residents of a Sussex market town have given their verdict on First Minister Alex Salmond. A guy of the First Minister has been unveiled as the centrepiece of the prestigious Lewes bonfire celebrations. The official East Sussex County Council Twitter account tweeted a picture of the effigy, which includes Nessie and a 45% symbol, with the message "A sneak preview of Alex Salmond and Nessie ahead of tonight's bonfire in Lewes - it just rolled up at County Hall." http://www.heraldscotland.com/news/...ews&utm_medium=twitter&utm_source=twitterfeed please log in to view this image
Oh the irony. Guy Fawkes was a Catholic who wanted to murder Protestant Scotch King who wanted to unite the island in Union, now they want to burn the Scotch separatist leader for wanting to dissolve said Union. Sooky sooky ten dolla
I have been to the Lewes Nov 5th thing and they usually burn 17 protestant martyrs, there are a lot of Pagan/druid and witchcraft types that go. Good piss up when i went with tons of burning crosses and people dressed as priests.
His effigy will get to sit on a throne and watch the world around him turn to ashes Wasn't that the outcome of independence anyway
There are some real Hillbilly wicker burning types in darkest Sussex where I grew up, there was a small Hamlet near Selsey (which is weird enough in it's own right) that had only one road in and out, if you went down there, the locals would just stand and stare at you in complete silence until you left never to return.
I thinks it's funny what they did to Guy Fawkes. They took him up into Big Ben and mashed his nuts with a hammer against the bell. True story. Then they did worse stuff to him.
