Several clubs, lots of interest...aye ok..

Maybe the Willow Pond to link up with Arca is about his limit. Mind Arca will still show him up..

JOZY Altidore’s agent will hold discussions with Sunderland next week over the striker’s future at the Stadium of Light.

Altidore is yet to start a Premier League game for Sunderland this season, although he was introduced from the bench in last night’s 3-1 win at Crystal Palace.

The American revealed on international duty last month that he would consider moving to pastures new in the January transfer window, if he continued to be limited to a bit-part role at Sunderland.

And his representative, Lyle Yorks, is due on Wearside next week to hold discussions with Sunderland’s hierarchy over Altidore’s situation.

“I’ll be in Sunderland next week to discuss where things are,” Yorks told ESPN.

“There’s a lot of interest in Jozy.

“I’ve been approached by many clubs and we’re going to evaluate everything in the next two months.”

French side Lille are thought to be admirers of Altidore after making an enquiry with Sunderland over the 24-year-old during the summer.

Yorks claims clubs from the Bundesliga and France’s Ligue 1 are also among those eyeing Altidore, while there is no shortage of interest in the former Hull City loanee from the MLS.

But if Sunderland do allow Altidore to leave the club in the transfer window, the Black Cats will be keen to recoup the bulk of the £7million they spent to bring the frontman from AZ Alkmaar in the summer of 2013.

Please, please, Jozy go. There is no way I can see on earth how Jozy Altidore and Gus Poyet will ever fit together. Gus wants one up front. It'll suit e.g. Fletcher, Bent, Loftouse, Lawton. It wouldn't suit a wanderer like Dennis Law. And it won't ever suit Altidore either. Please, please, please get to hell out of this club, Jozy before your career is ruined forever. And I hope Gus won't stand in his way - Jozy's just wasting the wage bill here. No hard feelings either way - just wrong player for wrong manager, pretty much like Mannone and Wenger. It happens. Go.

Got his heart in the right place but it's time to go. Could bring someone in if he left and Connor.

Agree completely - but truly hope that it's coincidence that Denis Law and Jozy Altidore are in the same sentence!!

He simply is not good enough (although he was no worse than Wickham on Monday!)

I'd love to know where the interest is from (i.e. which teams) and also - if there is interest and the agent knows about it - aren;t whoever are stating their interest tapping up? Otherwise how would the agent know of the interest.

To place any blame on Gus or his style of play for the dire perfomances we have seen from Jozy, is ignoring the obvious, ie. that he is slow, cumbersome has the touch of a brick wall, and a goal scoring record that borders on the comic, the sooner he wanders the better.

At this stage of proceedings I won't lose any sleep if Jozy, Connor and Danny get contracts elsewhere in January.

I just hope we bring in a proper striker as replacement, alongside an AM and defensive re-inforcements.

Football really is weird though, go back to September and most people were creaming over Connor and begging for big contracts to be given to him to stay and thought Fletcher was finished.
I can still only think that Fletcher was not fit/injured even more than was let on as he was a pale shadow of the guy who played on Monday.

I dunno what's worse, that bit in bold or you referring to Jozy Altidore and 'Tapping Up' in the same sentence. <laugh>

Clubs can speak to agents mate, they can say 'If he becomes available we'd like to be kept in the loop' sort of thing, seems fair to me, especially given he's not a regular starter.

Can't see how he can whinge to be perfectly honest

In roughly 8-10 games each Wickham and Fletcher have scored goals...

Wickham kept us up and Fletch now has 4 in 5 or 6 starts?

This compared to Jozys 20+ starts with i think it was around 2 goals in all competitions?

Good work rate but hasnt got the confidence to finish, shame really as I wanted him to persevere and do well

Anything more than £4m and we have done well to get that much back imo

I have to say. Bent would ****ing drown under this system imo. He'll hang off last man go missing and we'd never see him again. Our CF role is made for Gyan imo

I agree to a point - but if we get rid of those then we MUST bring in two strikers.

Wickham - whilst he's not playing well - is a good striker - I've sasid it for a long time. But he will not play up front whilst Fletcher is playing well. Fletcher is a very good CF when playing well and there's no way I'd move himn from there for Wickham. If we got a decent (ish) fee for Wickham in January then that'd be fine as well. I'd like to keep hold but it looks like he's being an idiot and wanting to rot away somewhere - someone should tell him Al Ain are looking for someone to graduate under the tutelage of Asamoah Gyan!

<laugh> It's ridiculous. Castro was Gyan's best mate. He wasn't busted, just some Journo's making up daft stories.

Wickham has said that his preferred position is on the left of the front 3, so he cannot complain he isn't getting the chances. If he doesn't up his approach, work rate and attitude significantly in the next 2 months I couldn't give a **** how promising he is. A good month at the end of last year does not make him a good striker, he has to perform over longer than 4 games or the odd match here and there to get that accolade.

Yet another Jones for me. could have been so good, but too far up his own arse to really work for it.

I'd rather bring Mandron on to take the big lad spot, and splash the cash/wages on a proper striker with Connor, Jozy and Graham off the books.
