Loved seeing Markus's name on the Pavilion...gives it identity and character. Les Reed spoke well about our plan being long term and not setting targets other than continuous progress and one game at a time. Seamless transition of Koeman and his brother into the club as they share the philosophy. Spoke of intention to get 50% of team from home grown players. Said in studio that big players may now choose to join Southampton. I didn't recognise the Scottish chap in the studio, but he says it didn't work out for him at Saints, but is a great club and good place to live.

the plaque on the black box room was interesting. just a silhouette of the club badge. lots moan about our badge, but how many others would be recognisable in silhouette?
Loved that video...have to admit I had tears in my eyes when they spoke of Markus. The facilities look fantastic and giving the youngsters a physical movement through the building so they can sense their progress with slight upgrades in the changing rooms as they move nearer to the first team is inspired. One absence from the video is Nicola. We will never forget what he has done for us, but there must have been a major rift for them not to give even a nod in his direction. Mind you, he was good at whitewashing people out of the picture, so the biter bit, I suppose.
I think west brom, fulham, chelsea, reading and swansea might have trouble. please log in to view this image then again maybe some of them could just create a silhouette from an element of the badge, like the swan. reading and wigan would be a bit fkd
What a video. I freely admit I was in tears when it got to the dedication part. How proud Markus would be of his daughter, and everyone who helped to bring about this fantastic achievement. And of course I include Nicola Cortese in that. Proud to be a Saint.

Just showed more on Sky....including that video with Bale etc. Can I get prouder. As the presenter just said, 'Wow, impressive stuff.'
Hasn't Katharina got a lovely voice. She had to look up so she didn't cry, then Krueger nearly teared up and I thought, please don't...she's just holding it together. I loved the moment she said that she hoped the scarf would bring US luck...made herself part of Saints. A lovely day.
Got to admit, Ralph's a very good speaker indeed. That sounded like he was making that speech up off-the-cuff, but I bet it took quite some time to work out. Notable that he ended it with the mantra from the #We March On video. He said it with such conviction that it makes me wonder whether he wrote those words himself originally. I thought Katharina was was brave to stand there holding onto her emotions. Plenty of people would have crumpled.
I hope (though don't expect) that it will finally put to bed the idea that Markus didn't clear our debts. Kreuger said it was his first thought.
