Very happy with the performance, thought we would get absolutely thumped.

Everyone tried very hard, thought Moreno was fantastic btw, everyone ran their socks off but Moreno for me was brilliant.

Manquillo is so much better than Johnson and I hope we get him on a permanent deal at the end of his loan spell.

Toure was solid, as was Lucas and Allen. Borini done well up too by himself too.

Of course well done to Real, Varane is a great defender too, very quick <ok>

Gerrard used off the bench worked well, he could be a very important player for us but he should not start every game. I really hope Rodgers keeps Lucas in the team.

Macca saying that Sterling, Coutinho and Gerrard injected a bit of pace into the team! What the actual **** are people watching? Is it a different game to all of us? Sterling, yes. Coutinho, yes. But Gerrard slowed our midfield down and went for hollywood balls all the time - often giving it away.

    ****ing hell.

Someone called it, after only losing 1-0 with a changed side the pundits are now saying if we'd have played our strongest team we'd have won <laugh>

    So ****ing predictable

Yeah though manquillo got out of position for their goal he did well and frankly if Johnson comes back in it's a joke. That bit has virtually no experience and delivered a competent display there. The reward simply must be a start at the weekend

Gerrard v Lucas? Well let's just say Lucas played the role well and Gerrard has not half the year

Borini v badontelly. Don't get me started

Lee Dixon talking bollocks, wanting Gerrard to start. If Stevie had started the defence would have been far more open and Real would have had better and clearer chances and probably won by more than 1. Plus Gerrard is ****e at closing down players in the centre as he has **** all pace.

Only down fall for us tonight was a proper striker and thats Sturridge.

Only player I think that might have made a difference from the start was Sterling instead of Markovic, as Sterling has that bit more craft and would have worked to close down.

    Indeed.

    I meant more than Balotelli.

So who has earnt themselves a first 11 place from that game?
    Manquillo? Lucas? Borini? Lallana? Toure?

    Mignolet
    Manquillo Skrtel Toure Moreno
    Lucas
    Henderson Coutinho
    Sterling --- Lallana
    Borini

Or swap Lallana for Lambert and go for a diamond.

Mealy mouthed pundits we "almost win" after all <laugh>

Real were at 50% once you acknowledge that then you can pat our lads on the back for delivering something

This group is now down to us at minimum matching basels result v real when we play kudos away then we have to beat Basel by two... When the fixtures came out this is exactly what was expected

For me Skertl was shaky and sloppy at times so why should he keep the shirt? Why should toure and lovern not be seen?

Agree, but id start with Can for Coutinho, then Bring Coutinho in as an attacking option second half.
