Official Match Thread - Real Madrid v Liverpool

Happy with the performance so far, much happier with Can and Lucas in the midfield. Pity about the goal.

 

Not too shabby.

 

good 1st half. toure and skrtle have played well together and looked good going forward but with no real threat on goal. Madrid playing within themselves. still we have a chance

 

Good first half. Contained well but for the goal and a few last grasp clearances. We need a bit more urgency when we attack though. Been a few opportunities to put someone in on goal but we delay the pass in an attempt to show the play down.

 

A few of these lads will surely play their way into the team at the weekend if they keep this up.

 

If we can continue like this and create a chance or 2 we may have some luck here, with pace on the bench in Sterling and craft in Coutinho we have options if we can keep it at 1.

 

Very happy with the performance. Caught out by 1 moment and was a top finish to be fair.

Midfield has looked quick, mobile and decent on the ball (notice who isn't playing). Been calling for a midfield 3 of Allen, Henderon & Can for a while and although Lucas is in for Hendo, think it's the best they've played in a while.

Borini is unfortunate because he can't really win tonight. He'll run the channels and put the effort in but we aren't going to create or support him enough for him to make a huge difference.

Overall though, apart from 1 or 2 shaky momeny from Skrtel & Lucas, happy with that.

 

It is a respectable performance so far but we will never score with 4 CMs playing and Malkovich as their outlet.

 

Great half of football we "almost" beat them there and really "threatened" there too


Once our players learn a little thing called shooting we might almost win a game eh?


Anyway varane kroos and benzema are beautiful footballers but I'm glad we've got Allen, Skertl and borini eh? Next best thing eh?

I'm sure James, Ronaldo and isco are wondering what they need to do against this defence and worldie of a keeper

 

We have the exact same problem with Jonjo. Once he touches the ball he kills the tempo of the passing game.

 

Got to say, Markovic has the Balotelli attitude; only interested when he has the ball. Seen him stop running after losing it at least for times. If he cuts that out and learns how to avoid being tackled he could become half decent

 

I'm actually happy too they are trying, riding their luck big style and not even trying a shot but at least they are trying

 

Allen plays much better when Gerrard isn't in the team.

 

Quite proud actually, certainly doing themselves proud considering how much of a big deal this **** Adrian Charles made of the line up.

Keep it tight still and bang sterling and coutinho on last 20 if it's still 1-0 I say

Other than 1 mistake Lucas has been good he should be used more often wake up Rodgers keep Lucas in the team.

 

Thing is, if we somehow container like this the pundits well day we could have won had the first team played

 

If we keep this up surely I can look forward to a #bbcsalford article about how we almost got a draw
