In the short term it will keep players a bit fresh, but the psychological impact of rolling over and dying in one of the biggest games of the past five years for Liverpool could be massive. Utd fans know well enough how fast the wheels came off our season last year when we got panned 4-1 by City and looked like we knew we had no chance. Gonna be hard to motivate the players to push really hard to reach the CL next season if they can expect to get utterly panned again the following season and essentially give up at the halfway stage.
