Or maybe because the teams he actually wanted to join i.e. Barca or Real weren't interested enough back then. He had no intention to join Arsenal - I can't find one quote which says he did. You can find many of him saying he wanted to leave LFC but not one in relation to Arsenal .

Ah well, he signed another contract, we protected his value and we managed to get £70m for him.

Hope the lad doesn't bite anyone because he will get x years ban next time which would effectively finish his career.

While it remains another false dawn its going down as a one off season. Like Newcastles 5th place a few years ago.

You do know he wasn't given a new contract in summer 2013 don't you. He was told he wasn't going anywhere, which is what prompted me to say what I did in that quote.

Regardless of our position this season it has no bearing on last. We finished second last season because we had the best attack in the league. Hows that working for you? With the most expensive 11 ever assembled, ever in our league, surely you sould be beating your noisy neighbours. Or above us, or beating the mighty MK dons, or even one single away win?????
