I'm a maybe for this for now.

 

no lynch vote is good. I don't mind a stalemate as what will happen is lads will get antsy and things will occur.

I think cyou can have a I vote for no lynch option rather than you must vote for someone and it says... hey if the majority say no lynch.. then nobody dies but if all 15 do it... well that'd be silly too and wouldn't happen a second night. Its the talking round that would ferret out a suspicion and in reality if the game is balanced......

well if a game starts out balanced giving the mafia etc a free night to convert or kill means you give them the advantage. Last time we had so many roles we have a fair chance of hitting someone with a 3/4 man tie and let luck decide.

I think theres lost of ways to set it up.

one other way is to set a minimum number of votes required to put someone in danger.

eg. 15 players... min votes is 3 or 4 votes to lynch. nobody makes the tally fine. then as the game goes on the threshold drops.

but anyway saying i vote for no-one or no lynch is a good option. it wouldtake 4/5 lads to go it to put it up there and i think.... well voting for someone and getting them going is a better tactic.

 

Do you prefer (for the game, not yourself ) the journalist in the original anonymous form or the byline version (which puts the journalist at danger but also confirms innocence)?

 

might be astro giving roles... if he wants.

for me i think the journo needs work. the results need to come faster. I think anonymous is better. the role gives a person the opportunity in my view to talk like an innocent all day then do investigation and everyone gets the result. I thin the paper should be published at daybreak with result of investigation not a night later.

If i were journalist and known I'd expect to be first target to die as if a mafia is investigated the jig is up for them. therfroe they must be unknown.

 

i think the vigilante is also good... we've not seen it at work at all in the game yet! magic and rhc dies before using powers

really if there are so many town roles it needs to be balanced however. it depends on the numbers in the game at the outset how many we have.

 

The instant publishing of the result is better but means the journalist can't add their own flavour to the announcement. The journalist could also include some gossip and fluff pieces if they wish.

My idea with the name being on the article was to give the journalist a risk-reward i.e. they can publish the result now and be at risk or wait until they have a couple of names before it's worth outing themselves, but whatever.

 

I know that is a pain but they could if they wished write two/three options. the fluff peices gossip etc sounds good... hell make up a few lies like gerrez grow hair...

My idea with the heavy is wanting things for the mafia to do that isn't just killing innocents. They should be more devious. Maybe they could also have a

MAFIA HACKER - can replace the journalist's investigation announcement with their own fake one implicating someone.

 

That would mean one of two things:

1) the journalist can't write their own report

or

2) there is a time delay between nightfall and daybreak allowing the journalist time to chuck something together

Edit: I then saw this comment:

Maybe a option would be to release to paper at a set time. Nightfall / daybreak is around 8pm, why not release the paper at say, 10am the following morning?

 

RHC used his power but died the same night didn't he?

i like both the free masons AND the vigilante... and the cop you suggest being pubic but a private journo = 5 roles... thats a lot.

i like it all but milk can explain how to balance them out.

how baout the powers of mafia.. will they be split out like last game or have a don decide.. if the latter (i perfer) then someone should inherit the powers.

however i guess i emant we didn't see it have an impact on game. its not been important role at all.

That's good, I also like it gives people time to think about what happened the last night rather than everything happening all at once
