, Maybe they were booing the ref and the dodgy decisions which against them? Still, don't let reality intrude.
Palace fans are rubbish, everything that's wrong with the game. Everyone mocks drums, cheerleaders, goal music, eurofag chanting, but love Palace fans. Why? They're not even that load, these things are enhanced for tellywision. What they are is a bunch of sad ****s who should **** off to some ***got French team or sissy MLS team.
Plenty of our chants are recycled European chants (just done without the passion), most others are the same dross you hear in every ground across the country.
Yes booing opposition players and/or the ref all adds to the atmosphere. Of course it could be better, I don't think there's a single ground around the country where the atmosphere couldn't be improved in some way.
How about watching the game? There is a lot of dross at matches, it's not singing by any standards and often just obnoxious chanting that fails to impress many and doesn't get taken up - hence your problem with atmosphere; I think it less to do with seating or acoustics and more to do with the generally **** nature of it. It is often the case that the same folk who love to sing (sic) also think nothing of waving their arms, standing up and generally being a bloody nuisance at what is quite an expensive live viewing experience. I fully support all the wannabe singers moving to the back and being grouped together - why not form a Hull City AFC Choral Society, get your own membership sorted, have practice (rehearsal) sessions and petition the club for block seating, as it seems they are open to positive initiatives - the importance given to this should merit its own solution.
