Well done to the author of the article for having the guts to write it, I couldn't do it .... but he does give the impression he hasn't done any research before putting fingers to keyboard. This bit just doesn't make sense -
i was for the record quite relieved when rodgers said we'd no interest in balotelli and said so and ground my teeth a bit but never wanted him... its hard to grind your teeth hoping to not see him be as bad as feared
I hoped but never believed he'd be good. I do think he still deserves time but doubt he will improve. He could bad thirty goals this season, he'd still irritate me with his last poor attitude
BR says a lot of things and goes back on his word. Whoever gives him media training, needs sacking or more training themselves because if they really think he's prepared for the questions he's asked, and let's face it they're going to be pretty obvious ones, then the only explanation is they're deliberately making him look a fool!
I remember lots of "Not what I wanted but he's ours now so I'll give him a chance" and a large number against him. Quite a few " cheap price for Balotelli, not who I wanted though" comments too. I don't remember anyone happy to get him. I thought the price was good for a " brand name player" but didn't want him. My opinion all summer was that we were signing too many players and too few great players. Quantity over quality.
Only one I can recall that was truly happy about it was Sky (#nameandshame) but it wasn't just him. Think most on here know I said I'd rather keep Borini or sign Shane Long than get Balotelli or Eto'o
got it backwards, Rodgers has to get player deals sanctioned by the committee who get it sanctioned by the owners.
I think there has been a bit of I want ???? and the committee says too much how about ???? or ???? or ???? I think Balotelli was a case of this, no way was he Rodgers first choice for replacing Suarez for many obvious reasons.
Hard to tell if he was even excited by the prospect on his comment... he just preferred him to Bony. (the only one who appeared to do even that).
Never rated Balotelli before he joined LFC and couldn't understand the hype - but he joined LFC and all you can do is try and see the positives. A lot of well respected pundits think his potential is off the scale so I'd welcome his signing. I expected more from him however we're simply not playing to his strengths. People are expecting to be like Sturridge or Suarez but it's not his game and he's getting stick for it. ----------------------------------------- Re. the committee - Rodgers's record is shocking - Allen (more on the price than ability), Borini, Lallana and Lovren. Not to mention the fact he wanted Vorm, Williams, Bertrand among others. FSG need to take that control back and the let committee do their thing IMO.
that's 100% how I felt about Bad signing Still our problems are goals, 7 more goals over 4 games and we'd be 2nd, goals goals goals, everyone above us is conceding goals but they are scoring more We've only condeded 3 more goals than Chelsea!
There you go putting people in boxes again I'm starting to wonder if these thoughts are actually yours but you're fighting them I certainly don't expect to see the football from last season but I do expect a bare minimum from any Liverpool player. See my signature for more information
That goes without saying. I think S Americans are the way to go just look at the quality coming from there - Messi, Neymar, James aside - the PL has [or had] Suarez, Aguero, Oscar, Falcao, Mascherano, Zabaleta .... the list goes on. They play with such passion and commitment. I thought we had some sort of arrangement with Uruguay a while ago to try and bring over their good, young talent. We need to pursue it.
