good list, was wondering where Liverpools demolition of germany was but hard list to get on,i was supposed to go to that as well, but couldn't sadly. some of them i would have thought would have been higher, top 3 all football games, when the ashes victory one and the rugby world cup victory i would have thought would be higher up.
Cup game today. Played a team that's two divisions above us and top of their league. After starting well, it was fairly even after twenty minutes and it was still 0-0 but we were 3-0 down half time. They scored the final goal of the match around eighty minutes to win 4-3. Great effort I thought but I was hoping for penalties #firstnameontakerslist #wouldhavegonefourth
Hard luck fella, you should remember this performance for the rest of the season (not the losing bit ). Was this 5-a-side or full game??
Our Sunday league side so eleven-a-side. I didn't get to play today though, we had seventeen turn up so one missed out totally. Manager only used two of the sub's too, he was saving the third to bring me on in extra time (fresh legs and a penalty taker). Game was so tight we didn't want to change it any more in the regular ninety.
See, that's what always pissed me off about team sports, the fact that you might not get a game if everyone turned up, especially if you played for a popular team - unless you were super good and first name on the team sheet - always felt like a waste of time standing on the touchline watching others. Prefer more individual sports now, racket sports, gym and cycling where you always participate and get most bang for your buck.
I hardly played under the previous manager so much that I quit but still turned up every week to watch I don't mind. I'm not the best player on the side (not what I used to be etc) but I get a fair amount of game time, plus I'm carrying a couple of injuries at the minute too. I enjoy the laugh more than the football most weeks anyway
True, it's gots to be fun as well. All about the bants #bants. Don't get that playing tennis for example, some people can be real prissy about stuff. It's good when you get a good group of lads together for a hit. DOn't get it cycling either the only #bants there is with the legs when they're screaming at you to stop. I might join a cycling club, only problem is that they mostly all have very early club rides and I'm very far from a morning person. The prospect of riding a bike at any decent intensity before about 10am does not sit well
Started out with mainly mates but a lot of them dropped off as we got better players (basically, they weren't good enough) but each new player as joined us rather than taken over etc so we still have a good bunch of lads some six or seven years later. I've never taken any other individual sport seriously enough to be able to judge the banter properly. Only other thing I've done competitively other than football is cricket but its obviously still a team game. The banter can be better though since the majority are sat around together whilst batting.
