He scored one and made yesterday, and I have been impressed with him all season. Yes, he makes some rash decisions at times, but he is only 19 and for a defender especially, he is very young and needs to learn the finer arts of defending. He impressed me more at CB and I think that's his long term posistion, but even at RB, he has been fairly solid.

But my big concern regarding young Chambers, is the fact that we are so reliant on him. He is our cover for RB and CB. We seen in the past that over playing youngsters can cause problems in the future, because of burnout.

Yep really solid player and that £16m is looking like money well spent. He's a classic defender, strong, good positioning, quick and mobile and eager to win the ball back. One of those players who loves to break up opposition play and get the ball back for his team. I've also been impressed with him at RB and I think he's shown a lot of maturity there in terms of where he is on the pitch and balancing his defensive duties with his attacking desire. He's also got a rasping shot on him and it was great to see him get his first goal for the club on Saturday.

Things to watch for, he can be rash and dive in, but that's just eagerness to win the ball. He'll learn to when to tackle and when to shield so I'm not to worried about that. Remember Vieira at the beginning of his Arsenal careers was on the end of a number of red cards for the same reasons. Also as mentioned we need to use him sparingly at this age, circumstances have forced Wenger's hand (he could have prevented it buy buying another CB) but it's given Chambers his chance and he's taken it with both hands.

    Yeah. Chambers has been excellent.

I do think he will be better suited to playing down the middle particularly
when he 'fills out' a bit in the next few years.

For his age though the guy is very impressive. Another quality Wenger signing.

Wenger has (rightly) been lambasted for not signing a DM and CB but you have to give credit for the players he has signed recently. Chambers, Sanchez, Debuchy and Welbeck were all really good signings.

Chambers as future DMF? Wenger said he will consider him there.

I think he went as far to say that it's where he see's his long term position. That's an important role and one that we've been missing for a number of seasons. Personally I'd like to see us sign Bender / Carvalho but there's nothing to stop Chambers being developed for that role too. He has already proven that he has versatility so he's going to get a lot of games for Arsenal in the future.

Very good signing and he is showing off him potential by some blinding performances. Also I agree with Sanj and Piskie, he shouldn't be played so much so early (i know it's due to necessity) and that he could be a future DM but we should buy one of Bender or Carvalho now.

Ultimately I see him as a future CB, replacing Mert in a few years.

Yup we desperately need a cb signing to ease the pressure on him and allow him to recover properly. Itd be interesting to see chambers as a dm but only after hes properly learnt the skills for a cb/rb. Also shoild only ever be a back up/alternative to a proper dm

Would be interested to see him there. To me he looks like a ball playing centreback. But who knows he could end up be a good solution at DM.
