Well the saga continues with rumours flying around that Red Bull would like to buy the club from Cellino Cellino has said its not for sale but he siad this about McContract, so he maybe playing hardball or he may have realised the enormous task lies in front of him as a direct result of the previous owners mismangement or as I would like to call it milking the cow dry This month he has to come good on his promise to buy back the ground. His he finding it difficult to raise the cash if so then selling to red bull maybe is get out of jail cardso there maybe some truth in this rumour no doubt these next few days will throw some light on it From reading stories apparently they have been negotiations have been going on since Wed maybe Cellino just wants a financial partner to fund the purchase of the ground we will wait and see
Weren't the Red Bull rumours flying around when GFH owned us as well? I don't believe in them myself, if they were true we would certainly have the money to compete at the very top level but at the cost of the clubs identity.
Hard one to call, the last ten years haven't been much fun, another ten years of this or competing with the Man City and Chelsea of the world? I can fully understand those wishing not to sell out but for me I fear I could possibly be brought
I reckon there's more truth to it this time round. Not a total buy out, but maybe buying GFH's 25% or helping with the ground purchase in exchange for stadium naming rights
Dont think Id have a problem with a company like red bull investing money, not that I believe for one minute they will. They're a worldwide brand that would want to improve whoever they are associated with. Couldn't afford to be seen to do a gfh or bates on us
Everything from the sacking of O'Leary hasn't been much fun. I can imagine it's going to be another 10 years of this. I don't think we'll be competing with the likes of Citeh or Chelsea for a long time.
It makes sense for Red Bull to buy an English club, they have a huge market here .. positives besides cash is the link with other clubs (Salzburg and New York), thereby having access to loan players and permanent signings, for example .. so is this bull or real? Well, its not the first time they've been linked, and they can get a huge club at a low price so it is attractive .. Cellino admitted to speaking to a Red Bull rep, and then came over all wounded because the story leaked, but that's Cellino's way, smoke and mirrors .. his potential disqualification by the FL can also be a huge influence in any decision to sell the club, so that needs to be taken into account .. one thing is certain, Cellino won't lose money, and if he feels the threat of the FL forcing him to sell, then he will be thinking ahead and getting an offer set up now so that he isn't forced to sell at a recuced price ... think £55m was mentioned as a sum, and one thing Red Bull can do is give it to Cellino in one payment, making it a very attractive proposition if he is to sell .. let's see what the next few weeks bring, I think Cellino is looking at getting Red Bull on board now as investors, with the option to buy at a pre-agreed price should that ever need to take place Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Phil Hay @PhilHayYEP · 8m8 minutes ago Red Bull statement: "We can confirm that Red Bull has no plans to take over Leeds United nor take a stake in the club." #lufc
Well thats that then i was hoping Red Bull would take over on the condition Leeds change to a Red kit like Cardiff did
