You have to look beyond results in the early days. Today we went down to ten, have a look back at our previous fames v city with ten. We tend to get hammered. Not this time, for a time it certainly looked possible but then we took the game to them. City looked wary and that's not something you see too often in recent derby games.


Our players did themselves proud despite the result. Smalling aside of course. Only 4 points off arsenal. Nothings lost now. We took a point more than expected from the last two, conceded a few less than expected so not all bad.

 

That's the spirit. Ignore the fact that City could easily have got 5 (especially if they'd had one of the first-half pens and sendings-off that thy clearly merited). Look forward to our game in December.
