I see people are still reading and believing random stuff they find on blogs and newspapers (which are no better than blogs nowadays) via Newsnow. Well here's a couple of very credible-sounding "stories" that could be found on NewsNow:

"Daniel Levy is set to stand by his man and back Mauricio Pochettino despite a poor run of form in the league for the White Hart Lane club. Stability at the top has been a serious issue for Spurs over recent seasons and Levy feels that this time he has to stick to his guns and back the new man in the coming January transfer window. Spurs, who crave Champions League football, finished 6th last year and it's believed..."

    OR

"The pressure is mounting on new Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino after only nine league games and with the club sat in 14th place in the league. It's believed that chairman Daniel Levy, known for having little patience with managers, is not happy with the situation and is demanding better results. Although the last thing Levy wants is to have to change manager again for the fourth time in just over two years if Spurs can't turn around the current form of only one win in the league since August then questions will be asked..."

Of course they contradict one another whilst, at the same time, not really saying anything that is not demonstrably or highly likely to be true.

I should perhaps mention that both "stories" were just made up by me.

But I only said they "could" be found on Newsnow. And so they could - if I decided to start a blog and then link my site to Newsnow. They're remarkably easy to write - reckon I could knock out ten or twelve full articles before lunchtime.

The negativity is all with the coach not the fans. It's a feeble excuse as Harry Redknapp had no problems with it. Poch's feeling the pressure.

So says Keown. Pochettino made an impression immediately at Southampton and the fans, who had been outraged by the sacking of their former manager, were pulled onside. Is it ridiculous to ask why this has not happened at Spurs Mr.Keown? If he is such an outstanding Manager why is he unable to get the right response from Spurs players. Is that also a ridiculous question Mr Keown?

He did make an early impression with the change in style and some performances in the big games but the results were very mixed against poorer opposition early on. When he was appointed they were 15th with 22 points from 22 games, at the end of the season they were 14th and Pochettino had picked up 19 points from 16 games. We're talking about the difference of 1 win that seperates his record from Adkins. So Keown is right, he proved himself at Southampton and did it over time. Nothing that's happened so far is out of the ordinary so again, I think Keown is right, it's not the time to start panicking and calling for the manager to be sacked, although I'm not sure anyone other than a small minority are doing that.

hes probably trying to help us feel comfortable with excuses..trying that double bluff thing which sounds about right for a gooner.

p.s I honestly think there is a bad aura at our club...we could get Messi,Ronaldo and a few Bayern players with Guardiola pulling the strings and still we would fall short of whatever the expectation level is..i mean look at Southampton..even if its a temporary purple patch for them....they have done wonders...that was us last year and we were stuttering...all these managers cant be wrong....something isn't right...and as I always say...'life is lived in the head with the mind' there is some serious poison in the minds that run spurs because we are forever in the s**t....even if we are doing well..we don't see it through.

I heard about a gypsy curse at WHL once...hmmmm..im going to clutch onto that straw or ill just become even more of a depressive t**t when it comes to Spurs.

Harry had different players, and a different system. Are you suggesting that he made this up himself, without the players actually raising any issue?

Calling it a 'feeble excuse' is negative. Looking forwards to him finding the solutions is positive. What are our fans doing?

I think by now he should have made an impression, is that an unreasonable expectation? I see no clear performances, I see no proper captain on the pitch.

The style may have changed somewhat. But most of our major problems are still there. We're toothless up front, and can be shambolic at the back.

Result: we don't score enough goals, and we concede too many. Not a great combination! That may sound simplistic, but sometimes this game is.

The quality of the football is on par with AVB . Really it's hard to see any excitement with such ponderous
build up play . The situation we are in is bizarre , so many players that consistently under deliver , Kaboul
as captain , Ade as vice , a lightweight midfield of little substance , pop gun strikers .
The league position does not lie . Poch does not stand a chance , no players he wants but 3rd choice sums
us up. I said 7/8 at the start but that looks a long shot.

Does Eriksen really have no assists!!! That's not a good as he's our main playmaker.

Eriksen's stats don't tell the the whole story just as Modric's didn't. How many times did we see Modric to VdV to striker for the goal but these are not recorded anywhere. We noticed them because we scored more goals then. If our strikers actually scored we would appreciate Eriksen a lot more.

That sounds right for me-hardly read anything this past week I've been so low after last week. Only went to Wednesday's game as I had the tickets from ages ago.

There are so many players who just don't seem to care-think they will win by just turning up-clearly last week's problem second half. They thought 1-0 was enough and switched off. That is why Kane is such an important player-he gives his all- always.

The small pitch is true but it is MP's fault because he insists on playing inverted wingers. The moment they cut inside they find themselves in the middle of the park where it is too congested. if he used the width he would stretch the play out.

Lamella on the left and Townsend on the right will do as Townsend is willing to use his right foot more than Lennon his left.

    I'd like to see

    Lloris

    Naughton, Kaboul, Vertonghen, Rose

    Capoue Mason

    Townsend, Kane, Lamella

    Ade

Sunday scores often have a habit of being the same, if this ends 0-0 so probably will our match.
