Bit of a change at the back. Wouldn't risk Rev debut in this game, directly against Bolasi/Saha.

Gives us the best shape for our current personnel IMO.

I'm increasingly frustrated at Gus stubbornly sticking to his system when the fit, available players aren't playing well in that formation

Unless we play wingbacks with the pace and attacking intent to give us the width we need to play inside forwards closer to our striker then the system isn't fit for purpose. Wes at rwb is no better for us than Vergini or O'shea at rwb imo. Mavrias at rwb that could work. Fact is two natural wingbacks in the entire senior squad is completely inadequate in the way we want to play.

Way I see it if we have no fullbacks to fill the wingback role's then the next option for that spot should be a winger, not a cb.

Yep, it's what we play now, well it's what we're supposed to play. But we don't have the players for the jobs. I'd go mavrias at right wingback for a few game, I know Watmore can't play that deep though as he played it a Hartlepool and didn't understand his job.

Wes is there as a right back, not a wing back. Thinking defensively as they're strong in the wide positions.

Not a long term solution, just for this specific game

So you'd play for the draw, or hope of nicking a win against the run of play?

Fair do but not for me, tried and tested and failed so many times this season. Hate cbs at fullback me. Don't see the point of PVA being a wingback, grafting his arse off with a CB on the opposite side being defensive, offering nothing going forward making our attacks one dimensional, lacking balance and width. It's just same old same old.

Wide players playing wide roles is more of a tool than slow as **** central players playing wide imo.

What's this now, 8 seasons in the prem?

Already looking out for how the likes of qpr, burnley etc are doing and relying on them dropping points.

Meanwhile the likes of southampton and swansea etc are looking at the big boys to faulter, to try and nick their places at the correct end of the league.

    ffs.
