"There was an accident on motorway due to the weather which caused a 3 hour delay. They called the RM to inform him in plenty of time and he wouldn't budge. Arrived 4mins and 30seconds late and he would still not budge. Dogs have be kenneled 45 mins before racing to have passports and vet check. I understand rules are rules but this a catagory 1 race, the derby of 6 bends and surely for the good of the sport there should be some common sense applied, 4 ****ing minutes. Obviously those in the know had the heads up antepost, hence the 33s but even for the common dogs punter with a slip this is bollocks, well even for fans without an interest except in the sport want to see the best competing. I wouldn't mind but there has been cases like this in all the big competitions in recent years and common sense has prevailed."
It's a dutching bet for me in this race. Has to be either the unbeaten Shared Belief or the returning super star California Chrome. About time a well backed horse won tonight.
Jamie Spencer showed a lot of class there after the post congratulating the winning pilot...top stuff and a great race.
That's an understatement Ron - stuck in traffic for 3 hours, get there 40 mins before the race, but some jobsworth withdraws them because they have to be kenneled for 45 mins before a vet check is scandelous - what difference can that 5 mins really make - an absolute joke. To make matters worse, the dog it beat by 5 lengths 2 weeks ago won the race and the dog it beat by 5 lengths 3 weeks ago is 2/1 Fav to win it!!
