Bar the early result. QPR Leicester and Burnley all lost which helps us massively.

Do our job on Monday we dont only push ourselves up but hurt a rival in Palace.

    Haway the lads!

It's sad having to rely on other teams getting beat and us hoping to beat palace to stay clear of the relegation zone yet again.

I'm afraid I won't consider it a good day until we start getting the results we need.

Heartbreaking that we're in a situation where we have to hope the likes of QPR, Burnley and Leicester lose.

Hardly heartbreaking. You always want your likely rivals to lose. We will get a win I think, all will be rosy again

It's heartbreaking that after another year of building our main rivals look like the newly promoted sides, as it stands the four of us look most likely to drop.

You might not find that distressing, good for you. I find it ****ing piss poor.

Look, the mags are all beaming after a run of quality results. A couple of wins and it'll be the same for us. In fact, if we beat Palace we'd only be 3 points behind Liverpool in 7th!

    If....

That's my point mate. The day we start playing and start winning, that will be a good day. When we start doing well on our on credit and not due to the shower of ****e around us playing equally as ****e..

Aye, when we go in with a positive attitude again and actually pose a threat up front, rather than just being solid at the back and difficult to beat.

Its still very early days but Gus needs his players to man up and start to perform for him. A win at Palace would go a long way to kick starting our mini slump and Everton are not exactly invincible.

We are only a couple of results from turning it all round as the skunks have done in the last 3 or 4 games.

For me its natural to be happy that our rivals for position lose, its all relative to our position.

Just like Chelsea will be hoping United dick City in the Manchester derby.

We are a bottom 6 team so the more games the others around us lose the better. Norwich dying a death and other teams running out of gas was just as much to do with our survival as our form in a way last year.

Fully agree mate, it's way to early to start hitting the panic button. If we can get Fletch to hit form and get a few others fit to chip in, ie: Rodwell, Alvarez, Gomez etc then we'll be fine as we weren't exactly leaking loads of goals up until Southampton were we?

Clearly it makes no mathematical difference when in the season you get the points, it is just a case of how many points you have at the end of the season.

I do think it affects my mood as a fan (and perhaps has an effect on the players) when my team is over three points from 17th - which you aren't! Knowing that my team can go out and win and yet still stay in the relegation zone is a bummer. Still very confident you'll be 15th or above come May.

Bottom three is where we are, and bottom six is where we still will be come Xmas, our annual ****ty fixture list makes this almost a certainty and if this pattern continues we will eventually go down. I would like an explanation from someone as to why we always get such a crap deal. All the bottom teams including the those newly promoted away early doors, and all the top teams at home, in the first half of the season seems to be the standard for us, this means we are always having to catch up, with morale low because of our position in the table. Add this to our poor form again this year and you begin to grasp the long term importance of Monday nights result. We can still have a good season even if we lose, of course we can, but it will be so much easier if we get a result, especially a win.
