a very good source from the smb swears he was there this morning, i have no reason to disbelieve him as he is no bullshitter because his previous reports confirm this. Very intresting, He could be the 1st of the United boys to sign, despite what the Echo and the Guardian say

Do we need him, now we have Gardner and would he want to come now we have Gardner? I carnt see him wanting to go from one bench to another.

We fell apart last year due to lack of cover, if he's coming, it'll be because he's confident he can displace Gardner/Catts/Colback.

It's a good attitude to have.

I rate the lad. Think he'll be a good signing. We cannot bank on Cattermole being available all the time, suspensions and also injuries will play a part with him as they have done the past 2 seasons.

I also think Bruce will still use 4-5-1 at times next season meaning an extra midfield spot in the team

He can provide cover when Catts is suspended.

Have to agree - competition for places is a must, strength in depth across the squad and we might get through the season without a mid-term slump while every one sits on the physio`s couch!

I reckon after last year it'll be Colback and then one of the others. I've seen lots of teams with Catts as an automatic choice ahead of him. Not for me, and if we get o'shea as advertised then I'd put him in ahead of Catts as well, so it'll be hard for him to win his place back. Strength in depth as we could have at the end of this transfer window is something we've been lacking for a long time. Just hope now we can get the left sorted and a half decent striker in to partner Gyan and I'll be very happy with the squad

I just personally think the money could be spent better else were especially as we have Ricco, Malbranque, Colback,Gardener, Catts, Meyler (when fit) who can all play in the centre of the park aswell.

I'd have Colback in as well, he was magnificent at seasons end.

Catts may well be the one that gets squeezed out.

Honestly, would be gutted if Catts wasnt in the 1st team. He (for me) could be our next Bally if he gets his injuries sorted and smartens up a bit. Plus, he is not just a tackler like he gets branded with. Anyone else remember that ball he played into Kenwyne against Blackburn? I think the captains armband at his age was just to much of a responsibility for him.

I'm a big fan of Catts mate, but i think it's wrong that all blame on his issues is put down to fitness.

I'll be delighted if we see the Catts of his first 8-10 games for us back, but i worry how much of that was down to Cana.

Could be that him and Gardner click, and i'll be ower the moon if they do.

I would certainly play Colback after what I saw last season and would not be surprised to see Catts go

I also think Meyler has a lot to offer. I'm hoping he can get his injury problems sorted cos I thought he was immense they few times he played over xmas/new year last season.
