Just one group of three so far and curtains are open, lights on.

Looks like I'll be taking tons of goodies to work next week.

I lived in America as a small boy in the mid/late 60's and it was massive over there then, all the kids in the neighbourhood took part and most of the neighbours joined in the fun but it was all good natured - "Trick or treat, money or eats".

When I came back to England (Pocklington at first) in 1969 nobody had heard of it but we did have mischief night, the night before Bonfire night.

Can I ask your opinion on my use of the word 'discombobulate' back on page 2?

In recent years it's also become an excuse for adults to dress up and go get pissed. Big deal in spiders apparently.

Tell you one thing, it's crazily warm out there tonight.

I hate it with a vengeance and Mischief Night and all the other non-nights that are just there to give kids the excuse to pester people they wouldn't normally have anything to do with. My dad was scareed every year. He hid inside with the lights off. Legalised mugging in my opinion. Maybe I am miserable.

Now Halloween parties are a different thing. Maybe I'm not miserable.

So far I've given out 0 sweets.

Locking myself in the bedroom with all lights out is doing the trick so far.

I just left a sign on the door saying "knock on my door and I will slaughter your parents".

A kid knocked on the door, turned out it was an orphan.

If Austin Powers wanted to play hide and seek, that's fine with me. I'd still not leave the room.

All we used to do was hollow out a turnip, set it on fire and scare the s**t out of OAP's at their front door! Didnt even bother with costumes back then! Its amazing how it is acceptable for children to knock on total strangers doors and ask for sweets for one day of the year and a total no no the rest of the time! I'd be suprised that child abduction numbers doesnt increase dramitically this time of year!

Reminds me of a fact I read yesterday: 9% of the world's energy is wasted by people leaving a light on for Belinda Carlisle.
