Nice jumps card from Down Royal tomorrow and I must admit I was extremely surprised when I saw Bet365 were going 10/11 about Morning Run in the 2.05! I know odds on shots are the road to the poorhouse (trust me I do know ) but this is still insane value as she's as short as 1/2 elsewhere! Have it! Champion Hurdler Jezki won the 2.35 last year and whilst there's nothing in the race this year of his class it looks a straight shoot out between the Triumph winner Tiger Roll and County Hurdle second Arctic Fire. The way Arctic Fire absolutely dotted up at Punchestown when I was down cast a lasting impression on me and the vibes from the Mullins camp suggest this horse could develop as a lively outsider for the Champion...Available at 9/4. I've stuck them in a double also, and as I write this Bet365 have cottoned themselves on and trimmed Morning Run into 4/6...
Just read that Apache Stronghold makes his chasing debut at Down Royal on Friday - very excited about this fella, remember him running away with the Monksfield Hurdle before being sidelined by injury, but gave a very good account behind Vautour at Punchestown and looks every inch a chaser.
Ridiculous waste of Ruby's talents that he only turns out on Mullins good things. Not like Barry Geraghty, he's in there on Friday in the 80-102 Handicap Hurdle and the Handicap Chase. Good man.
Hootenanny to bolt up tomorrow over the Atlantic have him in a double with No Nay Never on Saturday in singles and a double
Another for close watching tomorrow is Sgt Reckless out at Uttoxeter in a 2m Chase. Up against a useful sort in Horatio Hornblower and Doyle Carte but should be winning this. 11/8 threshold looks fair based on hurdle form.

Wolverhampton 4.55 Pimm Street 4-1 Ran a cracker from a bad position a couple of days back and provided he gets a better passage this time should go very close. 5.55 Lightscameraaction 7-2 This horse could go down as a text book case of how to not campaign a horse. On his first run he was heavily backed and ran out a very easy winner of a poor maiden, gamble landed. After this however the horse was run in terrible ground in France and had a hard race, It was then asked to race in soft ground again a week later and ran a good race to finish 4th at York and then finished well beaten in another listed race at Ayr. Next up a conditions race at Musselborough and beaten into 2nd. My issue is that if it was felt able to run in pattern company then treat it like a good horse and not run it in bad ground and too soon afterwards, if it's a handicapper then after an easy win to land a gamble reign in the mark a little rather than let it run well enough behind decent horses in listed races. The horse in my opinion now finds itself in no mans land as is on a mark which is high enough and yet has not secured black type. Back to tomorrows race however - On a form line through Billy Oaks the horse should have around 10lb in hand on that horse and it looks a two horse race between Koptoon and Lightscameraaction. The visual impression of his maiden win at Lingfield is still with me and enough for me to believe that should the horse cross over to the rail and set sail for home from the gate that he will not be caught. I do fear Koptoon as it was backed against some decent horses last time but I think the selection is not far off listed class and so should prevail.
A good horse deserves a good name and Haggas runs a horse called Awesome Power in the first at Newmarket for Mrs Windsor. By the top sire Dubawi he is out of a Fairy King mare called Fairy Godmother who was a 10f listed winner and granddaughter of Highclere. I'm sure Haggas would like to notch up his first Royal 2yo winner but the Godolphin colt looks the one to beat. Being by Dubawi he should appreciate the going and hopefully he'll eventually live up to his name: E-W today.
Chaps. Morning Run Tiger Roll Apache Stronghold Real racing but I'm still away so will have to catch up at the end of next week. Good luck all.

I bet Ruby shat himself at that last hurdle. Very impressive mare but she nearly threw it away with 2 over-exuberant leaps. Will definitely get better though. Wow.
Oddy have you seen worse listed races than the pair at Wetherby today? 125 rated horse odds on in the Juvenile when I looked. Crikey its poor for the grade. Bring on the Open Meeting I say.
Tiger Roll ought to win the next and I would like to see Wicklow Brave follow him home if not win either, a decent race interesting to see how it develops with Ruby on the fave it's going to be a tic tactical affair.
I thought that handicap chase looked a nice little race Nass - whether it should have listed status is open to debate. Regarding the juvenile hurdle, I think we have probably already seen better heats in this sphere this season. The top 2 are unbeaten but hardly look special and Full Day was well held by the Pipe horse who has since been beaten. Mind you, Sicilian Bay was once rated 29 on the flat
