Extended highlights up on the Player. Adam and Dave get properly worked up about Crouch and almost miss Pellè's winner, quite funny because they almost missed his first as well. Great stuff though.

When we got to Cardiff in the FA Cup, we had some incredibly lucky draws. Fingers crossed again.

I see some fans are discussing whether it is better to finish high up in the league or win the league Cup....I wasn't aware it was an either/or situation.

Was it that long apart I guess I assumed he left in the summer and that was our first visit to White Hart Lane after... I guess I forgot Stuart Gray, wonder why...

It's catching. I mentioned it earlier yesterday. The BBC mentioned it last night. And now here. Only 61 million people left to convince.

given that he got the sack right after, that would have been a short managerial term even for tottenham.

edit: haha even that's wrong. it was the next season we got him the sack.

Exactly. You know me TSS I will argue that we have a top 6 starting 11 as I did last season. This season I would say we have a top 4 starting 11. The difference as last year is the squad.

I was disappointed last season because even though we did have some injuries they weren't as bad as many other teams and our squad depth wasn't as bad as the amount of points we dropped. Pochetino may well parade around with Saints' best ever PL finish and points tally but for me he/we should have done better than he/we did. How much of that is down to his stubborness over Plan A, B & C being the same plan with a different letter and how much was down to him unsettling players whilst pretending he might honour his contract we will never know but we should not have been 14 points behind those european places that is for sure.

This season I think our first 11 is better, our squad depth is better, our manager is better and his tactics and awareness of the situation is better. I won't go as far as to say we should be finishing top4 at a minimum but I am starting to think it is well within our reach. I will go as far as to say that we should be definitely getting top6 or be very very close pointswise to it.

So which is most important? Silly question. We should be going for all of them because we can and I am pretty sure Koeman thinks the same.

5th best 11, 7th best squad IMO. Football isn't played on paper though. I'd be disappointed if we don't get top 6, surely we can catch at least 2 of Everton, Spurs and Liverpool?

Saints starting 11 is a match for anyone in this league. Our bench is stronger than last season. Wish Artur wasn't quite so proud, but there you go.
We're still weaker than some in depth, but there you go again - we promote youngsters. If it was a league requirement we'd be the best club in the UK.

Forgot to mention, has it already been posted that Targett has matched Shaw for assists..? :)

Long praised Targett...said he looked like he'd played LB for twenty years. I presume he meant that he looked experienced rather than knackered :)

Look at the confidence he had in moving infield and supplying Pelle for the 1st goal. All our youngsters show such confidence and calmness.

I think Targett will end up being a better player than Luke , the boy looks good so far.

Nice of Long to say that. He did look assured though, didn't he. I don't think there was a moment where I was concerned about him. Except when he was clobbered by Crouch.
