Sky interviewing Bernie. He reckons 14 cars next year is a possibility next year, but the promoters would be happy with 18 cars. When asked about needing the small teams, he said only if they're competing. Which is a no. USA promoter reckons the noise the cars make is the loss of losing the backmarkers. Which is rubbish to me seeing as after the start you can't hear them at the same time as the frontrunners anyway. Bernie wants to change the engine regulations again...
Yep, spot on. You don't air your dirty laundry in public, unless you've got a solution ready. Teams are not going to build new engines for next year - so they don't.
Is anyone else a bit fed up with the constant left-right-left-right-left-right of the COTA? Everyone raves about how it's so great and like maggots/beckets at Silverstone but surely circuits should be looking to have their own unique corners?
I guess there's only so much you can do with a ribbon of tarmac, particularly when you've no natural features/contours to give a track character. But yes, it's better than a lot of Tilke's efforts, but I can't call it special because it's best features are taken from elsewhere. Somewhat oddly, Clare Williams is under investigation: please log in to view this image
