It will still be the same, just a different platform and layout. Try it here... http://beta.not606.com/forums/liverpool.21/
The post from Mick says, "We need to move the forum software quick because of insecurity in vBulletin." I assume that's why.
I have been busy lately, yes! Plus for a while was only posting from phone which is slow and tedious.
This is how I see it, in a low-tech way. The software package they use to write the forum seems to be showing vulnerability to attack- which is presumably why some of us have had virus warnings recently. So, Mick is putting up a new site, hopefully immune to those attacks. The alternative one people are talking about is a test version of the new one- called a Beta Site- where it can be run through for a while to see that it's functioning ok. Then we'll all move house. We'll try not to leave anyone behind.
site stability and if the vbulletin stuff thats used to write the site is not supported or falling apart as mick adds things to the site (look at all the stuff he's had to remove) then he's really just moving all the content over and you won't even notice its done... in theory... so you know what that means but eventually everything from day one migrates to the new site and everything carries on as normal more or less. even the cheese....
Not strictly true. We won't be moving anywhere, the existing site will get replaced. So, we'd just wake up one morning and the new site will be here instead.
