  1. No chance, I don't like Stags <laugh>

I think the only time someone having a camera would bother me is when they are stood in front of me and its hampering my view. As you rightly say, modern culture and technology dictates it nowadays so its going to happen and some people WILL be having an experience that day. Each to their own I say, so long as it doesn't effect me <ok>

I'm a bit more open minded - like G  Some of those taking pictures may be at their first [or only] game. Also uni students doing courses like this: http://www.liv.ac.uk/study/postgraduate/taught/football-industries-mba/overview/

I wouldn't do it but I'm not bothered by it either <ok>

I'm actually quite grateful to fans who take ipads and phones to matches - they get the stuff up on youtube really quickly <laugh>

That's a fair point mate tbh, but the kind of people I was referring to here wasn't so much the genuine fan of a club who only gets the chance to go to the game every Preston guild due to the cost or whatever. I was meaning more the Japanese tourist types (not racist) who might visit Anfield to see a game, in the same way they'd go the Beatles museum.

I'm with saint on the selfies / filming thing. My kids do it, taking pictures of everything from their dinner to a wing tip, so they can upload it onto social media to show all their 'friends'. I give them right grief over it, I tell them their personal experiences in the present are being tarnished by their obsession with how others might perceive it in the future, sheer unadulterated madness

  5. Again, I understand what you mean by tourists but I think that fits my point even more. A Jap (#racism) would probably get to less games than most with them being in a different continent. I do understand what you're saying though, it just doesn't bother me although I am also younger and part of the modern day social media craze too <laugh>

I'm older and it bothers me even less.

There's some right idiots on social media - this place falls into that bracket too. I'm sure the people tweeting or facebooking think spending hours upon hours on a forum like this is beyond lunacy - but here we all are <laugh>

Canterbury University football team arranged this sponsor. The university was not impressed and they had to ditch them

Whenever i went to anfield for a cup game i always bought a half and half scalf. Its a one off game with either lower league or euro opposition, something to remember. I even used to do it when i went to goodison when they were in the cup winners cup back in 95 i think. However i wouldn't dream of doing it for a league match.

I can only imagine the carnage if you tipped up on the kop with half a LFC shirt stitched to a manc top.

Whispers..... These days kop tickets are sold too

I'm sure some guy from Norway (for tobes) or Hong Kong has rocked up to a league match not speaking a word and being just what is described here

Though I must say seriously I've not seen a half and half shirt since..... God World Cup 1990 or something.

At a euro match I'd always buy a half and half too but I must confess to selling out serious dish to get a guy tickets to a manure v lfc game in the rafa days when we won 2-0 after not winning prior 7 and he got a half and half scarf. Mind you the lad has renal failure now after a brain Tumour so he can be forgiven

Those were the pre kids days sigh..... Could afford a ticket or two

    Btw on tourists

I have no issue with it but I wish to god it were benefitting the city more than a sizeable amount if season ticket holders selling on their cards to travel companies who then make the cash

Put it this way for every Beatle pilgrim lfc prob pulls in another anfield pilgrim and the some money goes into hotels, bars, restaurants and lfc one....

While it ain't right par se it does happen

Anyway I do agree with tobes on the snap chat gobshite generation. Our teenage daughter is alway pulling some stupid face to sent a free message to someone and I also give her grief.... The world is about to be full of self agrandising geo maniacs who look at themselves on thier phone cameras more than where they are walking... And we are all idiots for not going and doing likewise

The bigger idiots are those using phones while they drive - not the kids taking selfies.

I see no harm in it whatsoever, it's technological advancement and we should embrace it. I'm far more concerned with the damage being done by trolls than the young egocentrics and yes that's the down side of the technology I said we should be embracing. Those using their phones and computers in a more sinister way is what we should be complaining about. Let the youngsters have their fun, as long as you as parents set guidelines.

  15. I think smoking whilst driving is worse. Least if you suddenly need both hands you can drop your phone, you can't drop a *** as you'll end up on fire! Smokers need to look away from the road to dispose of the ash too. Obviously, I mean talking on the phone, people that text are morons!

I agree entirely. They've yet to invent a hands-free cigarette.

How long can you keep a pipe in your mouth for? (You may have guessed that I don't smoke pipes.)

  19. Where does the ash go? If you're a scruffy f**er then fine, but how many people won't dispose of the ash in the ashtray or through the tiny gap in the window <laugh>

I don't smoke either but I do have a hands free setup for my phone <ok>

I'm with saint on the smoking issue. As to keeping cigs/pipes in your mouth, surely hands are needed getting the things out, lighting them and then disposing of them ... hence not hands-free.
