Its been about 5 weeks since the close of the site, and was wondering if anyone really does miss the forum? Lots of features on here eclipse what the bbc offered, but some features like posting match threads across forums is what I will miss, oh unless mick does get an addon built for it. If you look at the BBC 606 site now, all the threads have gone from the club sites, which is sad to see IMO as it makes it more difficult to find threads if you are after that quote to post.
Not for a minute, to be honest with you Jager this site is much better, i have found funnily enough the way its moderated has resulted in far less wumming as opposed to the mod a minute 606, the mods spoiled 606 in the end, so long live not606, we had some laughs on 606 but i for one am more than happy with not606 as its replacement
Don't miss it at all. But I agree with Jager that it would be good to be able to post some things across forums. e.g. post for a specific match.
They are looking to introduce multi forum threads by the start of the season, Jager has been instrumental in sorting that out with the site administrators, so hopefully it will be a reality very shortly
Yes I do. Can't get to grips with this one at all. Whu don't they post threads in the order they are created? Unless I'm missinf something in peferences this one is a mess.
No I don't really miss it as this place has been more than satisfactory in terms of the design, and other additions like the points etc... I still do go on bbc though and I think what shall I do? I know, go on 606. It doesn't happen
This site requires far more scrolling to get to a particular post or to the lady entry posted. Which is fine perhaps if you have a mouse but is tedious on an iPhone and iPad. Better navigation or some way to flatten posts to curtail the unnecessary content in the left block of each post woud be welcome.
You can choose various different ways to view the threads on here, you can also choose to remove signatures and avatars from view , I also use an iPhone but use mercury browser which is good, tapatalk is also available on here to view and reply to topics, perhaps try that
Don't miss it one bit to be honest Jager, but yes they have hidden the database, but if you goggle the thread title, say for example 'THROW JENKINS INTO THE DUGOUT!' then you'll get up all you need, also if you don't remember the thread title, try googling the poster, say for example Daiswan, then you should get up threads like this: http://www.flirtbox.co.uk/daiswan............... please log in to view this image Wrong one, sorry Dai Griffiths! http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/606/A39678213 ......That's better.............. please log in to view this image
Not606 is far superior in just about every way imaginable, unless you like the early 1990's look for a web site
Prefer this site, easier to navigate and no waiting if you make more than one post within a short period of time. Plus less wum's from other clubs though of course it is the close season and there are no matches yet to comment on.
Dragon i put my 606 member page into my favourites here is your member page from a thread you commented on http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/606/U12429765
I don't embrace change. I wanted to use ja606 but the initial server issues seem to have put everyone off
One thing I definitely don't miss about bbc 606 is the way they didn't let you post after 11pm. It had other faults as well, such as showing articles in order they were posted instead of showing the one with the latest comment at the top. And you had to wait a few mins between posting comments. Given the number of football forums available I'm very surprised that there was such an outcry when they decided to close it. It was a badly run and declining service. A complete waste of licence payers money.
