http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/29787237 Interseting link, more managers get the chop in in the championship than the prem, A few references to mr cellino, And a few daft comments from a mr basset at the bottom, Why not take it on?even if you get sacked ye still get paid.
One thing which is sort of relevant that I was watching a while ago was a few pundits discussing whether the current situation at Leeds would in fact put managers off taking the job. Interesting that they all agreed if anything it would make managers more likely to take the position knowing that the rest of football wouldn't really view it that badly if they failed because its an almost impossible job whereas if they actually succeed in these conditions then there reputation would become huge especially due to the size of the club. They also get paid out when they are sacked as well.
Josh there are hundreds of unemployed managers that would put their name forward for the very reason you have stated. but they are unemployed for a reason. quality managers have jobs and there are some quality managers even in the lower leagues the big question is would they leave their current jobs to work for Cellino and Leeds ? especially if there are other clubs interested in them too. Most of them dont need the money they just want to be involved
Crap out of work managers like Hockawally would jump at the chance - they don't have to do anything apart from talk to the press. Cellino picks the team, Cellino/Salerno buys the players Cellino choses the formation - you know you'll be sacked in a few months as the squad isn't good enough, but that's Cellino's fault anyway!!
There's the added issue of Cellino insisting anyone employed by Leeds has to live in Leeds, so any quality coach with a cushy job somewhere maybe 200 miles away or even abroad isn't likely to give that up and uproot his family for Cellino's 6 game challenge
Forza,If he has a cushy job away why, will he commute to leeds? Most jobs ask you to live within commuting distance, sort of makes sense.
The second part of what you say is true. BUT there are plenty of managers without jobs currently that would do very well in the championship. Steve Clarke and Roberto Di Matteo spring to mind immediately. There have been plenty of examples of clubs in the champ hiring managers who are out of a job and it working really well. Steve Bruce was out of a job and went to Hull and got them promoted in his first season there.
I agree he should live in Leeds, my point is, Paul Clement, the English coach at Real Madrid, would be unlikely to want to relocate to Leeds if he thinks he's only got six games to prove himself. Darko gave up a cushy job at Sturm Graz and a month later finds himself out of work
Just got round to watching some games downloaded etc etc. Also depressing that we are rarely in the featured game on the FL Show, but we have been on 3 times in the last 7 shows and lost each time. Watching the games though, there were three lucky goals against us, including the Bellusci/Silvestri cockup. Antenucci is a class finisher, but needs the service. Mowatt is our most consistent player and is better than I gave him credit for. Silvestri is great, but needs to catch the ball more often and not palm it out. The main thing that struck me is just how much backing off our defenders do. Everyone seems scared of making the tackle.
Yeah, it's funny that mate. As Samuel Goldwyn once said "The harder I work, the luckier I get". Life can be a bitch - especially when you try to kid yourself. After a poor first half by both sides, you were well beaten in the end. When your defensive cockup (we admit it was a cockup on your part) gave us the 3rd, your heads went down. We started showboating in the last 10 minutes, and inside the ground you could visibly see your players had given up. I take no pleasure in saying that - it was just a fact. Good luck to Redfearn in sorting it out, but from what I saw, I wouldn't hold your breath.
Read what I actually wrote rather than assuming I was talking about your mob - I watched a series of gameS (plural, geddit?), and was talking about three goals across those.
Brizzle - apologies about assuming you were talking about the three you let in against us, but the principle of what I said is much the same. You can bemoan bad luck as reason for defeat all day long - the point is it's what you do about it after the event that matters. If the heads go down, you've got no chance. It's the managers job to sort that one. Kick up the arse or arm around shoulder - different managers have different techniques - as long as it works. Redfearn will do it his way or it wont work. Hope Mad Max lets him get on with it. FORZA - bit old hat there pal. Then again, living in the past and coming up with the same old s**t seems to be your way.
jeeez Taff you got lucky sat and you think your Barcelona, your a mid table championship club and that's as good as its going to get IMO a slow road down to league 1 or 2 over the next 5 or 6 years, where you will find your level as a sold out league 1 or 2 club playing in red.
Not getting touchy at all lads - just enjoying the forum. It's quite easy to stay calm when you've just got the better of a team on the pitch and its' forum posters off it.... The "sheep" stuff is just typical of last gasp efforts when you've got no argument - it's so yesterday dears .... Well you know guys, as always the proof of the pudding and all that. We'll be up there with you for the return in April with 5 games left to go. Wonder where we'll both be in the table then eh? I can see that according to some of you, we'll both be mid table at that time - I wonder.
