    the draw

    Derby v Chelsea

    Tottenham v Newcastle

    Bournemouth v Liverpool

    Sheffield United v Southampton

So is everyone happy? This is the qf of the league cup and if we were bookies we'd be saying an all premier league semi final draw could well be on

So are we bothered now? Should we try to win this or toss it like pre Swansea feeling seemed to be?

Personally I think having a home draw in any cup is best but after that drawing Bournemouth is a lot better than Chelsea. It's also something to look forward to IMO

Yeah,Chelsea and Southampton both away, and either Spurs or Newcastle out.

We should be winning this pot. Quarter finals now, our lads should be craving that silverware if they're what they're cracked up to be. Guess we'll have to beat the chavs to do that though. Bournemouth are a good side and it will be a tough tie, so no disrespect to them, in fact we shouldn't underestimate them, but we should have more than enough quality to reach the semis.

  5. I think a home tie against anyone bar Chelsea would have been a better draw than away to Bournemouth. Hell, I'd have even taken Chelsea at Anfield over this draw TBH. Bournemouth is as far as we could have had to travel for this game plus they will be flying high in confidence too.

I agree with tobes, sure a home tie against sheff u or derby would be good or a home tie v Bournemouth but come on greez a tie with Bournemouth away compared to any game v prem opposition is good

Yes a home game is perferrable always but this is a case of fire two quick goals and control the tie.... If we pick a decent side... That side can include toure, jones and a couple others like Lucas but all are decent pros that we are sending in if now on the journeyman side of good now.

Have to say it's a lucky draw for me. To avoid prem team this round is good. To even think of the embarrassment of losing only cements in my eyes how far we have fallen cos a utd fan would never think that way

Happy with that tie and we should progress to the semi.

Of course, Bournemouth are high in confidence and we shouldn't take them lightly, show respect etc etc, but at the end of the day, they're in the championship.

  9. I would. Chelsea are going to win it, may as well go out sooner rather than later :p

  10. I really dislike this attitude. The sides near the top of the Championship can be more dangerous opponents that lower half prem teams. The teams won't be that far apart but one of them is full of confidence because they're winning each week, the other isn't.

However, that wasn't my point. My point was, Bournemouth is as far away from Liverpool as we could have got. Out of interest though, would the team travel by coach or plane to get there?

    See now that's silly

Derby might whack them who knows

Personally I'd rather a go at them at wen key and go out fighting than to whimper out at qf meekly

Ok, I'll admit "even Chelsea" was pushing it a little but I stand by the rest <ok> Bournemouth are a good side, full of confidence and will be biting at the bit at the prospect of playing us too. It won't be, in any way shape or form, a easy game!

    Don't agree at all

Sides in the prem like Newcastle, spurs and Southampton (our other options I mentioned) are far bigger challenges than a championship side

FFs we will be shortly talking about playing burnley in the league or Leicester and expecting a win. They were championship and got out of it on merit

As regards Bournemouth I would expect an overnight and a flight back that evening.... Stay down there, you can fly from two airports.... And train on thier pitch then play.... It's certainly not as bad as going to Spain next week!!!!!

    They'd fly.

Bournemouth are a decent side, especially at home, but they're hardly top drawer.

    It's a good draw.

For the record Bournemouth are level now with boro who we beat after fing it up royally... We handily dominated boro so pick a decent outfit and compete like men and we can easily dominate there

FFs we want to be a top 4 side so we better man up to the expectation

Good thing about this draw is that if we progress and draw Chelsea or Saints they might not be in their current form by the time we play them - and we should surely be a bit better.

We should be going for this. Rodgers needs a trophy for himself and so do many of the players.

It's a home v away arguement away from the best draw available... Ok she'd utd are lower but they've cup pedigree from last year

I'm happy but I expect big time... This if the side plays poorly I am going to be critical which is deserved

Too true but both sides might also go out

Oh I'd take a Bournemouth qf, shff utd semi and newkie in the final

  19. This. If we list all fourteen possibilities from the draw, away to Bournemouth wouldn't be at the top. Home to Bournemouth would be high up though, that's my point.

I doubt you'd get to lift this pot without beating Chelsea tbh.
