We're brilliant.

 

I think a lot of it was massively intensified by the media, and by all accounts, Matty's son, but even that last bit is conjecture. I think the UK media surprised Cortese with their intensity. If the world had left the two to settle their differences alone I'm sure they would have sorted something out eventually. Cortese's handling of Franny was poor though, I have to say. There's no denying he wasn't brilliant at everything, but he sure knew how to appoint the right people, get the infrastructure properly working again, get the right ambition implanted, and fast track Saints to better things. He's still a big reason why Saints sit in 2nd position in the PL, and have an Academy which is the envy of the rest of the UK.
