From all of those corners you can see Walters wrestling with Clyne to block the keeper at every corner. Several times Fraser struggles to get where he wants to be. Every team does it these days. Sometimes I think the keeper would be better just staying on his line at corners these days rather than risk getting blocked off.

Just watched the goals on BBC1 (having already watched them on Sky ). Pelle's first was great (well done to Targett for assist)...it was pointed out that he wasn't even looking at the goal, so gave no clue to the keeper that he was even going to do it. We also had other chances...haven't we been saying for years..if only we put away our chances we would be out of sight. Begovic made some good saves. Gardos (perhaps due to tiredness and lack of match fitness) made a couple of errors and was rescued by Fonte....still we defend as a team, so OK. P.s. Can we raise a petition that Pelle should always wear the blue shirt even when we are at home...he looks so good in it when celebrating goals.
Good to see. We were so convinced by the team spirit last season, but it seems even better this (from what little we can glean from outside the club). Every little drip of positivity from Morgan especially makes me happy!
A couple more comments from the Oatcake forum. This one softens my opinion that they are all blind and clueless (This was before their second goal) All we have done is ****ing foul them this half. Garbage. Then that goodwill I just felt towards them was cancelled. They are still all idiots Southampton the new arsenal. I didn't have the benefit of watching a stream or anything so it would be pre-emptive to start on the pro's and cons, as you say, few referees penalise the blocking that goes on in the area.
Crowd over 16K, so Saints fans must have made up a decent proportion of that. I could mainly hear the Saints fans...must give a lift to the boys to be followed on a dark, dank night to the deepest Midlands.

I heard a quote of 2,500 Saints fans, but hard to say as there was pay at the gate included, so may have been more. Someone posted "I wish those Saints fans would shut up, I can't hear the booing of the Stoke fans!" That was at half time.

Good stuff! I had a thought recently... who'd be up for a permanent thread on here of our players' social media posts? I don't have a personal Twitter account or Instagram (and I imagine a fair few other posters on here are the same), but am interested in seeing what the players post, their interactions and the photos they upload. Would someone be up for doing this? Even if it's just a handful of the better/more interesting posts, not every single one.
I do find that weird...I can understand you may be biased towards your own team, but I don't understand anyone thinking we are an awful club. Our fans aren't thugs. We haven't been one of the top clubs for years lording it over everyone, we are a team that were previously perennial strugglers who have come good. I am pleased to see another team do well and suggest that the status quo can be upset, so I honestly don't get it.
