If you read up this thread you'll know I'm a little concerned too, LTL. I would say shaky is a bit too far a description, but he certainly isn't The Wall, as Celtic fans called him. He's facing better quality teams and sharper shooting now. Artur is far more agile than Fraser but he's not as committed, in my opinion. So, for me, Fraser still gets the nod, but only just.

I am not sure I share his sentiment though. While we have done well I didn't think we would do well this year and he said that the media keep saying how surprising it is. My biggest gripe with the media is that they keep saying Southampton have played lots of easier teams which may be partially true but does not mean we cannot continue nor is it less impressive. I am as surprised as the media quite how well we are doing, however long may it continue :).

Yeah, you spout ****e. I tell you to get a grip. We've been here before. I think it's you who don't get quite it, or get football either, actually.

Who isn't enjoying it? If anybody is a weirdo here it's you trying to tell people you don't know what their emotions are. I'm absolutely ****ing delighted with the way we are right now, and our win against a physical side. It doesn't mean I have to be blind to all aspects of our game though. Do you think Koeman is "just enjoying it", or is he looking for ways in which we might improve too?

In your mind he must be some Dutch weirdo...

Over a player who doesn't want to play for Saints. Right on mush. Excellent summary. Well done.

Listening to Poch speaking English is a painful experience, thank goodness he spared us the pain.

Do you think Forster looks excellent and can't possibly improve. Do tell us, oh great one....because clearly you know SO much more than anyone else.

I think it is a little much getting worried due to a feeling Fraser isn't doing well. The defence clearly feel secure in front of him, and doesn't he have one of the best save - shot ratios in the league? In the first three or four games he was regularly one of my players of the match. Recently, with the team flying, he's in the unenviable position of being underworked and over-scrutinised...

The classic idiots response - "you disagree with me so clearly you don't know anything about football".

Well done. Mum will be proud.

Just read back through the thread as I hadn't read it since early afternoon..............

............so following on from the Stoke fans thinking that we are up our own arses and incinuating that we are not far ahead of them to 'laud it' over them, I would have said before the game that we are streets ahead in terms of setup, style and probably only close in that the fans are both pretty loyal and support their team well.

After this match I think we are miles ahead of them in every department. I have not heard a home crowd that hungry for blood protesting every decision against them like that since the days when we would be watching an English team play in Galatasaray years ago!!!! They disagreed with every decision made even when in their favour. Shocking. So we win on fans as we are slightly less fervent and blind. Even West Ham fans are between us and them because at least they do accept that they are playing **** thuggish football.

Like I said I have read through the thread and would like to comment; add to the following posts:

I wasn't overly impressed last year. I'm not a fan of Barcelona playing keep ball for teh whole game and having 15 shots when they could go 50:50 on possession and still have 30 shots. Its much more exciting and better to watch. I preferred Adkins' style of attack, attack, attack (even when we were getting beaten.)

I know someone commented on Koeman, Sammy Lee and us being similar to the 80s Holland & Liverpool teams but to me this side reminds me of the Ferguson Man Utd. We attack at every opportunity and work hard to get the ball back if that opportunity doesn't work out. We don't give up opportunities just to hold on to possession any more and I love it.

Simply put, last year we were like the Arsenal side that Fabregas left. The side that everyone raved about for their pretty football but fell short because they were always trying to score the perfect goal through the eye of the needle.

This season we are more like the Chelsea side that Fabregas has joined. If you can attack............attack. The only thing separating us from Chelsea is of course £300m+ worth of players which shows how well we are actually doing (although some teams' fans are going on about how much we spent again. They have forgotten we had a whole team to replace.)

Hughes had 3 halves trying to play football and failing. He resorted to tactics worse that Sam is ever accused of and far from little niggles, they came out for that second half and kicked us off the pitch. Adam should have been sent off for what can only be called a kick at Schneiderlin. It was worse than Rooney's the other week. The ball was gone and he didn't even get the front leg. It was a vicious swipe at the back leg. And the Stoke fans were complaining about all the decisions still???

He will be very diplomatic and tactful I am sure. He should be telling it like it is and stating as matter of fact that Stoke are Thugs.

Soo the next time I read the Stoke fans being all friendly with us......and saying we don't really play like that........we can't shake off that reputation.......I will say Fook off back to your hole.

Saints crowd were great tonight but should have sung the traditional:
**** GROUND NO FANS, **** GROUND NO FANS

By the way, when are they going to finish their ground?

Ah, well you see, I'm not that surprised. :)

I knew we wouldn't sit on the £95+M and was quite looking forward to the season in the end. The thing is, many Saints fans have a very detailed eye on the club and they possibly/probably have a better idea than many lazy media individuals how well Saints are set up. Once I saw how well Saints played Liverpool I knew we were in for a good season. The media were still talking to each other about what had happened weeks before. And they still talk about it - and it's getting really boring now.

As to the exceptional skills we've been seeing, no one would have predicted that. Some of the football we've played this season has been electric. That I didn't expect.
