Davis was superb and Tadic, Long, Fonte and Pelle did well. Can I just say that I thought Lee Mason was very good too.
Same old Saints, give the old ticker a wobble. Thought those days were over.Stoke really should lose points for carcrash tackling.
Well, half of that was enjoyable to watch : ) That was a nasty end to a fair game of football. Contrasting styles but theyve done it to us twice in a row. Physical pressure disrupts our play yet again. something to look at for RK. Still, a nice win and a double over Stoke. Should give us confidence and blimey, Pelle is a bloody hero. Great all round play, pleased to see Targett on the pitch too.
Well they do have to take West Ham on without Bardsley and Crouch now. And the suspensions will continue throughout the season. They still have too many players left over from the Pulis era.
Gardos is understandably rusty Forster looked shaky - probably due to not having much to do in the last couple of games. However how about we compare him to who we had in goal last time at the Britannia ...
Throughly deserved and well done for sticking two fingers up to those thugs. I'm sure Stoke will say they played great second half, but they really had about 3 efforts on goal, and just bombarded the box (as per usual). Saints had more chances second half, and were good value for the win tonight. Quarter-Finals, some meltdown.
Absolutely. Incidentally, I'm quite pissed off with Peter Crouch. He took a whack at young Targett round the back of the head. Definite yellow, so then, because he's piddled off with his own behaviour, and then his lack of control, he piles into a high tackle, which was another definite yellow. Then he complains. He's being the prick, yet he's complaining about it.
Worst Draw: Chelsea away Best Draw:Sheffield Utd home I suppose but I'll be happy with a home draw against anyone really.
I had hopes for Pelle, but he has exceeded all expectations. I hope they wrap him in cotton wool after every game.
Really..? I was always pretty confident frankly. Stoke got physical, but I thought we had too much skill for them. Don't think my ticker got too involved really.
Well done Saints!!! Toughed it out at one of the most intimidating grounds against one of the most intimidating teams around. Can the gods be kind to us in the next round?? Please, please Bournemouth. We need a local derby!!!!!! And they are by all accounts a good footballing team so would be no pushovers!!!!!
Wow. Stoke away was always a bloody tough draw. We now have nothing to fear in this competition - well, yeah, perhaps we do - lets have anyone but Chelsea up next.
