For me it's between him and Aguero for the best player in the EPL.

Costa, Hazard, Ozil, Di Maria all come close but for all round work rate, athletiscm and technical ability it's hard to look past Sanchez.

Now that Eduardo's fat brother is injured and Di Maria is in a team managed by Butthead, Alexis has a good shot at being the player of the season. What a way to spend £35 million. I'll bash Wenger at any chance, but hats off to him on this occasion, for acting quickly and getting it done.

Sanchez is simply too good for us. He should be playing for the likes of Bayern,Real or Barca. Thankfully, the morons at Barca decided to keep Pedro and sell Sanchez. Hopefully we can enjoy him for a year or two before he moves and decides that he wants to play for a club that actually has ambitions of winning the big trophies. A guy like Sanchez should not be competing for ****ing fourth place.

I support Arsenal, and we are not the greatest club in the world, we are a club who compete for fourth place season in, season out. One day that might change, but it won't for the next three years. Sanchez is an elite player, but we are not an elite team. Also, you can f** off as well. <ok>

I would argue that we 'competed' for the league last Season - not for fourth. The fact we led the table for 5 months shows that pretty clearly.

If it wasn't for the awful start we've made I would say we will compete this year to. In terms of player quality we are pretty close.

But back to the first statement - yes we are the 'greatest' Club in the World. Its a subjective thing - the fact you don't feel that way makes me question why you even bother to call yourself an Arsenal supporter. By all means criticise the Boss or the board (i know I do)but the Club is an acummulation of all these things: The team, the fans, the badge, the kit, the locality, the stadium and of course the history.

I am a relist. We are not the greatest club in the world, so what's the point in believing that. As for competing for the title, yeah right. last season, Liverpool, Chelsea and City competed for the title. We just flat tracked bullied our way to the top before we faced the top teams and took an utter pounding. In the end we competed with Everton for fourth as per usual. If the manager and the board won't even stretch their ambitions to become the best in England, why the should I belive that we are some sort of great club? Everything about our club right now stinks of mediocrity, so how the hell can I believe we are anything but great? Also, even the way we run the club has become shocking. Our owner takes £3 Mil out of the club and we can do f** all about it. And yet, I am meant at to belive that this is the greatest club in the world?

So by your logic ..Chelsea competed and we didn't? Despite the fact they only finished 3 points ahead of us - AND the fact we were Top of the league for over 5 months? That does'nt make any sense.

It's all about perspective. You are determined to see the negative in things.

History is the only thing 'great' about Arsenal. We used to have a great club, we used to have a great team, we used to have a great stadium and most importantly, we used to have a great manager.

Chelsea still had a slim chance, because of their manger and players to win the title even until the last few months. They knew they had the ability to beat the best and pull out big results, but last season a lack of a top cf, killed them. The defeat to Sunderland and Palace finished them. After the trashing against Liverpool in early Febuary, we were done. We were finished in the head, because we knew we could not compete with the best.

I don't think there's anything negative about Sanj's posts... They're just realistic. We didn't challenge last year. We did in 07/08, we didn't last year. Anyone claiming we genuinely did is just kidding themselves.

Also, claiming that to be a fan you must believe your team to be the greatest in the world is also very odd. You're basically saying that to be a fan you have to be delusional?

And what happens if appoint a new manager and he takes us to the next level, attracts greats players, wins the league, make it past the last 16 in the CL and gets us playing great football again. Are you going to admit that Wenger held us back and was indeed a busted flush? Nobody can know for sure how things will turn out post Wenger, but right nowwe all know where we are heading. A battle for the tedious fourth place, finishing second in our CL group, then drawing a proper team and getting kicked out in the last 16. This teams fortunes are like their football, utterly predictable.
