I suspect he is being picky about you starting a sentence with the word "and". There are no rules against starting a sentence with a conjunction despite some people (even some English teachers saying you can't). If all your sentences start with one it looks sloppy. BUT the occasional one is OK. (Nozzer, himself, started a sentence with "but" earlier on this thread)
It might have more to do with me putting "I" rather than "And" initially and then abusing my powers to correct / erase my error, therefore making him look silly I may have just been being my usual ****ish self
