km/h what sort of measurement is that in a sport where speed over ten meters is what matters? Look at how sprinters are built compared to the likes of Sanchez. Those results are ****e. No surprise it's a Fail publication, time them over distance that matters in football.

Erm, it's a measure of speed. There's no distance given, so the implication is that it's their top speed. I think you're confusing speed with acceleration. back to physics class for you.

I find it very hard to believe that the list above represents the fastest players..

Great pub quiz question though... I'm guessing when someone decided to publish this, essentially useless, info they knew exactly what reaction it was going to get!

Not buying it. Think this list is highly inaccurate.

Just had a mental picture of Allan Hutton chasing down Aaron Lennon, and then, Connor Wickham catching Alexis Sanchez from behind!

    Then I woke up.

I think the fact that this list has Phil Jagielka as the fastest player in the league indicates strongly that it is complete nonsense.

There's no way Jagielka is the fastest player in the Premier League, unless he was clocked outside Garlands chasing after David Moyes' ring piece.

He'll have been tracking back from a corner marra, lean with strong muscular legs, he'll have finally hit top speed around the halfway line. I can name two players who could beat him but haven't been in the situation where they have to cover that ground and that's Altidore and Lukaku, both express trains when they get going, but fast players who lack acceleration. But who needs to constantly cover those distances in a game? Usain bolt is the fastest man in the world, but would he do Walcott over ten metres? Would he ****, Walcott would leave him in dust, a few second later when the need to sprint has gone, Bolt would come powering past, impressive but too late.

Farah is faster than Bolt. However its been measured, doesn't tell the real story. As with a lot of things.

True - years ago they compared Linford Christie and Rory Underwood over 10 metres. Rory was quicker but they weren't about to comandeer him into the GB Olympic squad! I think at the same time Louie Donowa was believed to be the quickest footballer - he did well didn't he?

Walcott, oxlade chamberlain, lennon, Routledge, are names that come to mind when I think of fastest players. No one on that list apart from Dyer are even remotely quick.

Craig Gardner has fookin concrete in his boots.
