I know Swansea aren't exactly the best team in the league, but they're a good outfit and are ahead of us in the table anyway! That said, our midfield looks so much more balanced tonight than it has for a while. It might lack the individual talent of Gerrard, but Lucas and Henderson take turns staying back or moving forward depending on who's in the better position, rather than when Gerrard plays he always has to stay back and Hendo has to force himself into an attacking position. It just seems to work better. Coutinho drifts around as he pleases and generally is involved in creating all of our attacks. Still not sure what Markovic offers yet, but he's not had much time in the team really
Good thing is, we're still creating chances in all our games. It's just we lack a goal scorer on form to stick them away. Present some of these chances to Sturridge/Suarez of last year and we'd be scoring just as many goals I think.
We're playing well and maintaining possession but not getting anywhere with it. For all the possession we've had, we've been limited to two or three pot shots from outside the area!
Yep, much more balance in midfield, Swansea sitting back a bit but still seems more pace and freedom. Really hope we get a goal, pay off the performance
what the ****, Lucas does the cleanest tackle ever but the Swan screams like he's been murdered and gets a free kick
Have we scored from a cross this season? They're a pointless tactic IMO, like our corners they never seem to connect with any of our players' heads
Coutinho's clearly our main man. Lambert's holding it up well, Borini's offering plenty of movement too. Lucas and Hendo are pairing up well too.
